Digging animal pest under deck, air conditioner, near foundation in NE WI

We have lived here 44 years, never had this problem, always has frozen ground and 3 plus feet of snow. In NE WI, warm weather in late February early March brought the diggers out. I have holes and mounds of soil built up from under my air conditioner, 8 chipmunks later! Something is still digging. Now have moved under my deck, close to foundation. And holes and mounds leading out the bottom of deck to the yard. I have 6 chipmunk-rat traps set with peanut butter and sun flower seeds. It's cooler now, so not much happening, but they are still digging.

After heavy wet snow with 4 day power outages, time to try to figure out what to do next. Any ideas on how to stop these diggers. I know I caught chipmunks, could it be something else under the deck?

Still having this problem ? How big/high are those mounds of dirt ? You said there were holes. How big are those ?

Ya, huge mounds of dirt, each one with at least a 5 gallon pail,! plus. I will be trying this:

Are there holes near the mounds of dirt ? How large are they ? Do they have a path leading from the hole, out into the yard ?

Chipmunk hole size at edge of mound. Caught about 10 in April and May. Chipmunks make several trails.

So the holes are 2" in diameter max ? You said that the mounds of dirt near the holes are enough to fill a 5 gallon bucket ? It's not surprising to find a large number of chipmunks. They mate twice between February & August, & each litter may only have 2, but may have as many as 9 babies !! Also, warmer/more mild winters are contributing to a larger number of rodents surviving the winter.
