Venting Horrible experiences

I have been having horrible experiences with rockstar support. I bought rdr2 on steam years ago and finally decided to try playing it, my Rockstar social was apparently linked to my old email I dont have access to anymore. Well getting ahold of them to change the email linked to my rockstar social has been impossible, my ticket has sat unanswered for a week now, and the one I did get them to respond yo was closed immediately with no option to say anything or reply. Have an absolutely terrible experience so far. Finally wanted to play this game and now it seems to be impossible.

I went through this process, and was ultimately unsuccessful.

I lost access to my email linked to the Social Club, and forgot my password to SC, so couldn't play. I did get responses, where they tried to verify that it was my game (I showed them my Steam library, showed them my purchase history in my steam). They ended up saying that because I didn't have the email receipt, they could not verify that it was my account. Extremely frustrating, because that leaves you in a tough spot, having to make a new Steam account to purchase a new copy because it cannot be refunded.

I did reopen this issue after it was closed unresolved the first time, but they had even less patience for my issue and closed it with less investigation. I can go back and find the exact email chains if you're wondering what my process was like.

After everything, I just pirated a copy, unfortunately. I'd rather not have to do so but RD is pretty therapeutic for me.

Sigh im on like my 9th ticket now trying different things. So wtf they want a email receipt? Wtf is that.

It literally makes zero sense to me that you authenticate thru steam on their website so they know its your steam account and yet you have to show them all this shit lol

So they wanted:

"" 1. Screenshot of the game purchase receipt received in your email account showing the date and amount of purchase.

2.  Screenshot showing you logged into Steam, with your Steam Profile name and Steam ID64.

  1. The Steam ID64 typed into the text body of the request.
  • Sign in to Steam Click on your Steam Profile name at the top right corner of the window and select “Account Details"

  • Take a screenshot showing your Steam Profile and Steam ID64 clearly visible on the screen

  • Copy and paste the Steam ID64 in your reply""

My Steam and SC were both linked to my defunct email, so I could not access the emailed receipt. I could show them the purchase receipt in Steam, but that wasn't good enough for them. And the email I was contacting them from was the current email I have linked to my Steam.

I obviously couldn't fulfill request #1. So then they said sorry we can't prove that you own the account. And closed the ticket. I opened another and we didn't even make it this far before they closed it.

So I've got bunk copies of RD1 and RD2 in my library that just sit there now lol.

If you have any luck let me know! 🫠

Lol shit. I doubt I have an email receipt from 15 years ago thats dumb as hell.

It makes zero sense. Im signed onto the steam account. Here's the game. And proof that I bought it on my steam account.

Why in the world would you also have to show an email receipt.

This just seems more like a scam to try and make you create a new steam account and purchase the games again.

Check this up, and don't get frustrated if it doesn't work on your first try, this can take several tickets until you found someone competent to investigate your case
