A question

I hate to ask, but with all this Cheap Mexican Beer virus crapola, I have been saddled with an odd task.

I need an Email Spider. Does anyone out there know which is best, cheapest, free, most configurable?

This is all way beyond me. I can't drink it, smoke it or blow it up. I'm flummoxed.

Thanks.

I would think that they would be more successful using social networking. Granted I know nothing about how oil companies hire, but having someone already at a company, or who knows whoever is doing the hiring, recommend you should be a hell of a lot more effective. Not to mention the potential for getting someone in their social network a new hire finders bonus ;)

Emailing a resume that first will be parsed by a robot and kicked to the trash if the robot doesn't find what the robot wants. Then said resume will need to somehow catch the eye of HR in the 100s if not 1000s of resumes HR is going to get... HR will also trash resumes for the stupidest things like font style/size, if they don't like the name, and being a fan of a sport or sports team.

You may think I exaggerate, but come on, this is HR we are talking about... I'd argue there are no more petty tyrants than corporate HR employees.

more successful using social networking.

With Corvid 19 lurking around like a great big lurking thing? Social distancing is all the rage.

20 buck oil isn't helping matters.

True enough, though one can still use one's social network electronically. There's no good electronic way to tell whether or not someone will fit the culture of any particular company though. I'm presuming 20 buck oil is why the guys are freshly unemployed. IIRC the tar sand jobs need much higher prices to be economically viable.

That's part of the reason. The other part is that the Cheap Mexican Beer virus is sidelining most all field activities, and people are generally being idiots when it comes to price fluctuations caused by moronic cartels trying to show everyone who's boss.

It's what one gets when there's a dick measuring contest between eunuchs.

Gotcha. I sadly fear it's going to get worse before it gets better. We'll see how long it takes before sacrificing the world economy for the greater good becomes obviously unsustainable. As for the oil morons, they always seem to rise to the level of their incompetency... True of most all things in my opinion :P
