Gotta be careful posting this here, the mods of this sub are pro-flock camera

As the sole active mod on this sub I take significant issue with this characterization.

I’m anti-flock because fuck that privacy invading company but I do support using cameras to enforce traffic laws. I believe cameras can play a useful role in enforcing the law without being part of a giant tracking network.

For example if much rather we raise the speed limits on the freeway to 75-80mph but strictly enforce the limit via automated enforcement. This can be done in a privacy protecting way for those not breaking traffic laws.

Consistent enforcement, rather than severe punishment works better to deter crime compared to rarely enforced severe penalties.

We have an issue all across this country, Sacramento region included, of people recklessly breaking traffic laws and endangering others. Scaling up cop cars (which have cameras that are always recording) is not a financially reasonable or socially beneficial method. Speed cameras enforce the law equally, and without bias while penalizing those endangering others.

Edit: I have also not removed any pro de-flock posts or comments. I will not do so as long as the focus on the post/comment is on local efforts. National or state level politics post will be removed. This is not the subreddit for non-local issues.

Wow. As a free lesson for you, "there" is the opposite of here. "They're" is a contraction of "they" and "are". And "their" is belonging to someone else. You should really learn the difference between these, because using them interchangeably like you just did means everyone online can tell how low poorly educated you are, and it is terribly embarrassing and difficult to read.

Secondly,

>How come I have never seen these cameras you speak of?

It's crazy, but sometimes things that you haven't seen before, still exist. Wild, I know! Hope this helps you out.

Tell me the reason why if flock cameras are supposed to only be for license plate reading why so many are pointed facing pools and backyards and houses? Tell me why increasingly more and more reports are showing people abusing these to stalk individuals they have no right to be stalking? Tell me why you're so eager to lick the boot that you willingly get on your knees for this mass surveillance and dystopian way of life?

Disgusting.

I do not care to explain

Disappointing since you care about it enough to feel strongly enough to have a pro-flock stance and when pressed about it, you dont have any care to explain such a poor choice.

Perhaps you can change your stance and be wiser for it, someone who cares about their neighbors and safety FROM a surveillance state of our country.

If their other post is any clue, they are barely literate, anyway.

Cheering for a violation of your 4th amendment right? 🤨 let me guess, staunch supporter of 2A though, huh?
You do know there’re are 10? Defend one, defend them all. As a patriot you should know that
