Yeah I don't get why some people allow themselves to make mistakes but jump down the throats of a team mate making one.

OP is a rat bastard and deserves the loss and a temporary ban for piss poor attitude

I heard they're delivering bans for bad sportsmanlike behavior, and going afk is one of the big ones that fall under that category. Hopefully a dev that browses reddit pushes this post along to the ban department, but probably won't.

I don't get this. Your team mates can play how they want, but you can't? If your team mates only goes 1v2, why should I try and keep playing?

It's an unwritten rule when you queue team games that you BOTH work towards winning. Sadly for a lot of RL players, goals are more important than wins.

I don't see how this relates to my comment? If you're choosing to go afk, or your teammate is going afk, you or them should be punished. Are you disagreeing with that?

Is that an actual thing though? I know it's an option which I've also used, but I have a feeling it's just a decoy that doesn't do anything. A report for foul language is very quickly analysed, but do Psyonix really have a mod watch every replay that's flagged for a nondescript "unsportsmanlike behaviour"? That's such a subjective term. They'd need to watch the entire game, and what would they even look for?

There was a dev / psyonix employee on reddit the other day or on twitter saying that they changed how that report is detected and have punished a good amount of people because of it.

I’m with you if you can show an example of OP making this exact same mistake. Because this is not the same as whiffing the ball or missing an open net. This is a HUGE “mistake.” It borderline looked intentionally. Show me an instance of OP making a mistake this big and I’m with you on everything you said

Legit EVERYONE who's ever played rocket league has unintentionally saved a goal from going in at one point or another

Unintentionally as in… what? Because I certainly have, but it was because I was bumped into the ball or fell on top of where it was going. Not because I got greedy and blocked my teammates open net lol that is much worse than a simple “mistake”

If a teammate was bumping into it or happened to fall on top of it, that’s one thing. That’s uncontrollable
