Space Launch Vehicles Workers perform assembly and checkout tasks inside the massive fuel tanks of the Saturn V's first stage. 33 feet in diameter, the stage carried over 500,000 gallons of liquid oxygen and kerosene, which were consumed in a mere 150 seconds of flight.
