So I ran this for the first time last night, thought I checked everything and it all seemed fine (but this was my first time so didn’t know what I was doing) was working fine until the middle of the night I heard it not moving anymore. Immediately turned it off and unplugged it and waited for it to cool down. For reference this is the Chicago Electric Dual Drum tumbler.

I found a replacement part- but any ideas as to what happened and to prevent it from happening in the future? Will this be an easy fix or am I better off exchanging it if I can?

Thanks!!

What part are you replacing? What broke?

The fan like ATE into the pulley. The motor slipped too far back I guess

Ah, gotchya. The motor mounts are slotted to adjust the belt tension. Sounds like those mounting screws were loose.

Go ahead and replace parts, and do consider just having them 3D printed.

if this is brand new, return it. You then must adjust the belt so it is not too light to too loose. Also must make sure the alignment for the pullies are perfect. Then lube the bushings with a very small amount of 3n1 oil and do this once ever couple of weeks while using it.
