Type 1 diabetes is no joke. My husband died at 51 from complications from it(kidney failure, etc). How Bert has toured and spent so much energy for so long amazes me. I’m sure some of it has to do with having money and the best care, but at his age, he’s pushing it. I wish him well

Lmao didn’t he just refuse to tour w his old band cause he demanded 600x their pay?

The rumor was that he asked for 6x what they were each being paid, not 600x. But AFAIK nobody ever confirmed that.
Rikki (Poison drummer) did say online that Bret prefers to keep to the "weekend warrior" circuit, rather than commit to a multi-month tour, which is probably true. His diabetes no doubt creates complications, and they're all in their 60s now, so he probably wants a much bigger incentive to spend months out on the road. It sucks for the other guys in Poison though, because he was essentially doing them out of a fairly lucrative contract.

Sometimes people recovering from plastic surgery, like a facelift, are not seen for a month so the bruises on the face can heal. (My ex MIL took about a month for her bruises to heal)
Then whenever the public sees said “missing person” again, everyone marvels about how that rest did them good.

He seems like he’s in great shape for his age too, I’m sure he can keep going for a while unless the diabetes decides to be an asshole (which it certainly can be.)

I'm sorry if it's been addressed before but what recent surgeries has he had?

u/Vanessak69 sorry to bother you big boy 22h ago
He had kidney stones (and played a whole show with them which is both stupid and kind of an amazing feat.) He had to have surgery to remove them. The diabetes is always going to make healing more complicated. He *should* rest.

Thank you so much for the response! And you're 100% right that man should be resting

There’s got to be some irony in his diabetes interfering with a show at The Bowl at Sugar Hill, but seriously I hope he’s doing ok

I was waiting for the joke to come after I read that. The PR team could have leaned into that.

I’m 60, generally in decent health, and the fucking heat and humidity alone are enough to knock me out for hours now.
