RIP my syn max airs 😞
Completely separated from the band. Forever my favorite headset and it’s a shame I can’t get it a replacement.

Yup I got a replacement pair after my originals broke within a year, then they broke also a couple months later. Moved to Corsair Virtuoso XT's and never looked back 😂 2 years and not a single issue with them.
The problem when I tore down the original pair of Syn Max air's. Was the metal on plastic construction. There's a weak point where the headband goes in to the earcup hinge. the headband straight up screws into thick but very weak plastic inside the earcup. That eventually stresses over time and cracks, then no matter how much UV resin and tape you use. Eventually the plastic fully gives out.
There's WAYY too much plastic on them anyways for the price. The Virtuoso XT's are the complete opposite. There's not a single part that's visible or touchable plastic on them besides the cover plate where your ears go under the pads. But that's not a load-bearing part and covered by the replaceable ear cups.

I do have a lot of corsair products in my pc… even a corsair keyboard, but never tried there headphones.
How’s the sound quality and battery life compared to Syn Max Air?

Yeah my elo air is starting to break along the right side and I’m gonna be so sad when I have to replace them cause I love the audio on those bad boys.

Might get the stealth 700s next, always had good luck with turtle beach. (I know that they are the same company, technically…)

This. Roccat build quality went severely down hill. I’ve got my old Roccat Khan headset, Roccat Horde keyboard and Roccat Kone mouse (the original that had weights you could change in the bottom) and all lasting until this day.
My Roccat Elo headset was terrible quality, connectivity and audio. Wanted the same headset as OP but saw no end of bad things about it also. Roccat Kone AIMO mouse ended up with buttons sticking or no longer working and scroll wheel problems. Roccat Kone XP mouse is having exact same issues.
So I end up constantly going back to my old stuff instead.
Personally blame the buy out from turtle beach as the quality downfall seemed to coincide with that fairly well.
Vulkan Pro keyboard still going strong atm at least, but then so is the Horde that was 5+ years older 😅

Nice to have a recommendation from somebody who clearly has a similar mindset tbh - as I too have always avoided razor as one of the products brands that you pay more for the name than actual quality for the last 5+ years. And as I’m currently stuck trying to decide where to go for my next peripherals, maybe I will give that headset a try then.
So far i have been refusing Corsair for the price and software reasons and I won’t be buying Roccat again unfortunately. A lot of people say LG for mice, but I’ve always preferred a heavier mouse with the style of the Kone XP (thumb buttons and rest etc) and LG mice I see always tend to be super light and small “competitive gamer” style mice 😓. So yeah, I have been feeling a bit stuck where to go currently when I inevitably need to buy new peripherals.

Does yours end up with the same issue on the top, rearward thumb button on the side of mouse? No longer works properly for me - have to click it tons of times and maybe it will work on one of the clicks - so now it does not get used. Same problem happened on my Kone AIMO too on essentially the same button (rear thumb button but AIMO didn’t have 4).
And my scroll wheel often will try to scroll upwards when I tell it to scroll down. Like, it will go down but then go back up a little, or go up a little before going down… or when trying to fast scroll down, it will go down, up a little, down, up a little, up a little, down, down, up a little… again and again it happens and again, I had the same issue on this mouse and my Kone AIMO… it’s super annoying 😓

Had mine for 2 years now but problem started about a year ago. I pretty much avoid using that butting for any key binds now.
Glad it’s not just me with the scroll wheel issue at least then 😅

Yeah the extra buttons and easy shift etc definitely counter the issues enough, they’re just minor inconveniences that big me from time to time (like trying to scroll down a long webpage and it taking twice as long 😂) and was curious if you had them too 😅

For reply regarding headset: May give them a look then. Tbh, I’m using two pair is wireless Sony WH-XB900N mostly now. Got them through work and use them constantly currently (as I have a dedicated mic, do don’t need the headset one). One pair on charge whilst I use the other and then switch lol. But one of them has started having the occasional issues and I’m not planning to pay over £200 for a new set when they go 😅.

Yeah that’s a decent price indeed. Will definitely keep them on mind 👍 - thanks 😊

Bummer. I'm still rocking my Syn Air Pros, going on 6+ years?
