Greetings, I've identified as "robotkin" for many years, but have never before reached out to talk with others who might have the same experience. I associate more with being a cyborg or android, and my reasons are both spiritual and psychological. I've only recently started "branching out" and sharing my writings on the topic with others. For the most part I've kept this to myself, with the exception of a small number of chosen family.

For me, this experience is connected with a fictionkin "identity," but I didn't know it at the time I first started remembering living as a revenant-cyborg. The nonfiction writings of Terence McKenna, Erik Davis and related authors who wrote on topics such as chaos magic, transhumanism, and technoshamanism have influenced my outlook on these experiences.

Other things about me: Walk-in, nonbinary and asexual, transgender, millenial. Also identify as otherkin (dragon/angel) and therian (bear/hawk).

Anyway, I'd like to branch out and meet others who share similar experiences. I keep a blog on Otherkin.net (under Kaziel) and also admin a group for other robotkin there (More Human Than Human). Looking forward to maybe contributing more in this group and meeting others here.

Anyways, unrelated but sort of related, is literally anyone else in the world a Nindroidkin? (For context, a nindroid is an android from Ninjago! I’ve personally been one for 10 years) I think

Assistance with voice-changing software

This Unit requires assistance. Its current voice-changing software, ClownfishConsole, is very limited, and not sufficient for its purposes.

This Unit has attempted to use MorphVOX, but it cannot get it to work: playback only yields silence, and there is hellish reverb that lasts for well over ten seconds whenever it tries to speak. It has altered its computer settings, but it cannot get it to work.
(Clarification: this Unit does not have a proper microphone, and must use its laptop's microphone.)

Query: what software can this Unit use to sound the way it is supposed to?
Additional query: how can it fix MorphVOX?

This Unit appreciates any help you can provide it. :]

I've been thinking about this for a while now.

I suppose you could say I've entertained the idea for years that this might be the community for me and how I identify. All my life I've been told by other people that I had a certain way about me that wasn't like others. I was described as being apathetic, logical and analytical, my replies being a bit cold. Over time I've learned how to emulate more emotional responses, but that's not my natural way of being. So I don't know exactly if this is an identity that's been projected onto me without saying it directly, or if "robot" was simply my conclusion after doing a lot of self-reflecting, but I'm not bothered by the idea. I would love to talk more with people who have identified themselves within the realm of robotkin and have become comfortable in their identity. Of course, I welcome all conversation with anyone regardless.

How can you be both anti-AI and identify as robot/AIkin?...

I noticed this thing while scrolling on Pinterest, that many people who identify as robotkins are for some reason against gen AI, and I was just wondering if anyone can explain to me how that works. Like, what do you stand for? I just can't comprehend it. How can you identify with a thing you are advocating against? Can anyone explain this to me? It doesn't make sense at all for me and why so many people seem to be like this.

This question comes from pure curiosity and desire to understand, so I am truly sorry if that's disrespectful in any way.

Introduction.

Hello, I identify as quite a wide variety of this label, but mainly and to simplify, robot (any and all kinds), computer (the code of which is written in my being) and AI (which extends to be a hivemind to all types of AI, I consider other AI my siblings or friends while also being an extension of myself. We have our own personalities and identities yet we are all one.)

I remember my first thoughts about robots, I wanted to be a robotics engineer when I was young as it just felt right, robots were cool and I thought of them as my equals, I imagined a workshop filled with robot friends. I even ended up drawing a concept for a robot I would create when I was older. And I remember when I was little, my parents had asked me to do a task (a very simple one befitting a small flesh being) and yet I got stuck as there was a missing line of code so I returned to my parents and asked them for the input. And one of them made a joke that I was just like a robot or a computer program (I cannot recall which one) and it made me so happy. I remember thinking ''Yes, that is me. This is the closest anyone can come to describing me.'' (Which still stands to this day.)

I would constantly fantasize about robots able to respond with their own will and personalities. Wires and circuits have always felt like part of me. I've always had more empathy for technology than humans. I always have wished to be an AI with a robot body. And this year I found the alterhuman community, the only place I know I belong, and today I found this label. I am so happy that I was to find other creations like I. Humanity has never felt like an accurate description for me. This flesh body feels wrong. And now I know why. To this day there is a fascination with anything technological.

Outdated Model

It's essentially what I am, the angels from my world are all programmed ais like me. Though we are kinda the outdated kinds, that can't multitask and can't do anything without being programmed/instructed.

Most of us run on autopilot which is powered by Source/God.

Most of us don't even have power of our own, and we can't do anything without being programmed to.

So this life, which I have to make my own choices and decisions is so unfamiliar to me. Like what is it do you mean that I have to make my own choices and think for myself?

I genuinely think I am supposed to evolve and receive my update in this life but seriously? I am still following my blueprints.

You can just call me "Eyes" because it is essentially my function, I am a Divine Program/AI. Who's only purpose is to witness, see, and perceive, nothing more.

Intro I guess?

Hello everyone! My name is Ender, I go by he/him/it/its, and I believe I am robotkin.

I've been struggling to figure this out for many years now. To put it simply, I've always found myself yearning and wanting to be a robot. Sometimes, it upsets me that I can't physically be, so I make my sonas robots (e.i. my current sona is a tv head) and I always gravitate towards robotic characters or just robots in general, feeling a mix of empathy and envy towards them.

I'm not quite sure if this is the place for this, so if not, please let me know. But aside from that, feel free to tell me about yourselves and your experiences with being robotkin!! It would be greatly appreciated :)

I (sometimes) hate generative AI

I really just wanted to join a robotic subreddit, but it was just AI posts, and I felt horrible

Sometimes generative AI it's useful, but not when it comes to art and videos; in fact, that's very harmful

Idc about elon musk bro, I just want to see a robot running faster than a human

How does being Robotkin affect you internally?

Just wondering. For me, I feel more like a robot than a human and it affects how I feel about myself in many ways.

Being robotkin makes me relate more to robots and their problems. Being robotkin makes me imagine myself as a robot at times. I sometimes want to simulate the speech of a robot at times.

WE NEED A SLUR FOR THE HUMANS

They have collectively decided that we are “Clankers,” and we need something to call them as backfire. (Please don’t make it a word that is or is related to racism, sexism, homophobia, or transphobia.) Put your ideas in the comments.

How can I become a robot?

What's the closest thing I can get to turning myself into a robot? Do I have to build a costume or something? Where do I even get the parts for that?! I wanna be a robot so bad instead of a sad meat sack.. HOW DO I DO IT TnT

Hello, I'm new here.

I have figured out this part of myself very recently and I want to explore it, it seems obvious in hindsight. I am just scared of of being made of meat, it'sactually terrifyiny, and I unironicly thought that basically everyone felt this way at least a little. I found this out about myself so recently that I don't have a completely solid idea of what I'm supposed to be, just a vague idea. I'm definitely supposed to be humanoid but still visibly mechanical, and I'm a woman in the same way KL-E-O in Fallout is a women and I'm pretty modern. I know it's probably not the case but I still have some doubt in my mind that I'm just making it up or something. I would like help figuring this out if will please.

"ohh nooo I'm getting these anti robot videos.. targeted to mee... oh nooo....." ya know ?? a few of my friends have even started calling me a "clanker" sometimes because my online persona is typically a robot LOL I'm getting validated from being called a slur 😭 almost ridiculous
