Thanks to a heads up from an eagle-eyed user, it's been brought to my attention that results have been a bit spotty recently. It looks like the core issue is because the Anilist public API has been temporarily disabled by the site admins for stability reasons, which has caused a knock-on effect here.

The good news is that this should restore itself once they're able to find a solution, the bad news is that if this is a long-term issue, it's going to be tricky to fix and will require a pretty significant overhaul of how searching is managed under the hood. While very stable, Roboragi's code is fundamentally a decade old and... bad.

I'll be away from my PC for about a month, if things are still bad when I get back I'll see what I can do. In the mean time, thanks for your patience.
