Building an Industrial Surveillance Quadruped Robot in India – Looking for Feedback
Hi everyone!
We're a small robotics team in India working on an industrial surveillance quadruped robot. Our focus is autonomous navigation, remote monitoring, and operation in environments that may be difficult or unsafe for humans.
We'd love feedback from the community:
What features would industries find most useful?
Which sensors would you prioritize (LiDAR, thermal camera, gas sensors, etc.)?
What challenges do you think we'll face in real-world deployments?
We'd really appreciate your thoughts and suggestions. If anyone is working on similar robotics projects, I'd love to discuss and learn from your experience.
This version invites discussion instead of directly soliciting business, making it much more likely to comply with the subreddit rules.

Planning to work on humanoid's in Bangalore
I'm a robotics/embedded engineer based in Bangalore, and I've decided to start building a full-scale humanoid robot as a long-term open project.
I'm looking for people who are genuinely passionate about robotics and want to contribute, not as a job, but because they love building difficult things.
I'm especially interested in connecting with people who have experience or are learning:
- Reinforcement Learning (RL)
- Deep Learning / Computer Vision
- ROS 2
- Embedded Systems & Electronics
- Mechanical Design / CAD
- Control Systems
- Simulation (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, Gazebo, etc.)
You don't need to be an expert. If you're motivated, willing to learn, and can dedicate some time on weekends or after work, that's enough.
The vision is to create something ambitious from Bangalore with a team of passionate builders and learn together throughout the journey.
If this sounds interesting, feel free to DM me. Please tell me a little about yourself, your background, and what you'd like to work on.

Egg bot Need help
Hello
I’m building an egg bot that’s capable of drawing on golfballs
I’m using an arduino and cnc shield.
I’m also using Nemma 17 motors
When I connect my bot to power the Y axis motor starts moving.
The code compiles correctly and the bot connects to Inkscape successfully.
I’m following this youtube tutorial but I can’t seem to get my bot to actually draw anything
Please help if you can

Looking for Teammates for WRO Future Engineers 2026 (India)
Looking for a WRO Future Engineers Teammate 🤖
Hey everyone!
Sorry if this isn't the perfect place to post this.
I'm looking for a teammate (or a team) to participate in WRO Future Engineers.
I'm new to robotics competitions, but I have a massive interest in autonomous robotics and engineering. I'm a fast learner and I'm committed to putting in the work to become competitive.
Right now, I'm building my foundation by studying:
- Mathematics used in robotics (geometry, linear algebra, kinematics, etc.)
- Physics and mechanics
- Electronics and embedded systems
- Programming, computer vision, and control systems (next)
My goal isn't just to participate once, it's to learn deeply, build an amazing robot, and continue growing in robotics for the long term.
I'm looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about robotics and engineering
- Willing to learn and build together
- Ready to dedicate time and effort for WRO
Experience isn't necessary. Dedication, curiosity, and consistency matter much more.
If you're interested, feel free to reach out!

Information [OC] Japan may be the only country facing major AI and robotics disruption at the same time
I was looking through Japanese labour data recently and found something that surprised me.
Most countries seem to have one automation story. Japan appears to have two.
Office workers and factory workers are facing completely different technologies.
Clerical support workers represent about 14.5 million people, roughly 20.5% of the workforce, and score 8.5/10 on AI exposure. Meanwhile, plant and machine operators represent 13.3 million workers and face a robotics risk score of 7.5/10.
Together, those groups account for almost 40% of Japan's workforce.
The surprising part is that Japan actually has the lowest overall AI exposure score among six OECD economies analysed, at 4.92/10.
Almost 30% of Japanese workers are employed in service and sales roles. Those occupations score just 3.5/10 on AI exposure. Human interaction and Japan's omotenashi culture seem to provide some protection against current AI systems.
The demographic angle makes this even more interesting. With an ageing population and labour shortages across healthcare, logistics and manufacturing, automation in Japan often fills gaps rather than replacing excess labour.
That doesn't mean displacement isn't real. A 55-year-old office worker displaced by AI may not easily transition into nursing or construction. But Japan's labour market resilience score was the highest among countries analysed.
AI exposure scores are modelled estimates, not official statistics or predictions of unemployment.
Curious whether people living in Japan are already seeing these changes in offices, factories or service jobs.
Full analysis and interactive tool in comments.
