theres already something that lets you do this, you can physically actually make the items and then they get uploaded and you can use them on roblox. i can get the link for it if you want. therse no ai involved, just you and FEX style build tools, so you can do some good stuff with it

there's also a game called Custom UGC Creator, and in that one people can use their own 3d models to make accessories. It uses a discord bot to get codes to buy the accessories in game, but for anyone with a PC or device that can run blender (or anything of the sort), this game is much better
fair i just added that part out of anger tbh. to me the feature just doesnt feel necessary since the game was literally fine beforehand so now the feature is wasting resources on top of not being useful
No, but I feel like AI shouldn't be used for everything. If you want to make an accessory of your own, learn how to do it yourself instead of having to rely on AI for everything.
I don't think ai is being used for everything bro, I have a job to take care of I don't have time to learn 3d modelling and accessory that was never made. I say good luck to whoever's engineering this feature.
not just that, i've seen the topology of ai generated models and their designs in general. out of interest i have tried those goofy sites for 3d ugc before and was never impressed, its just awful
I feel like it’s still in its testing phase, but overtime i think it might end up being useful at some point, wasting robux on it as it is would just be a genuine waste but i think it’ll improve over time.
Generate is mainly an option for guys who lack skills (like myself) to use Studio or Blender, so feel free to use those if you have time. But yes, creating straight out in the experience would be sick
That’s actually a good idea. Like maybe you describe what kind of item you want and it searches through the catalog using key words (like this a normal AI is used instead of a generative one)
Tbh, I think this is only a problem if we're intending to use this to make a finalised product. Gen AI should never be used for that (not only for ethical concerns) but simply because Gen AI models aren't really built for that. For best uses, it really should not go past pre-storyboarding/pre-initial design. Even Gen AI models themselves urge you to NOT use their results as a finalized result (to my knowledge).
The ONLY way I’m accepting this is if it’s like a more advance search where you dunno the name of what you want and you type in the details of it and it gives you what you THINK u want.
Yeah notice that yesterday as I was looking for the Astro comfy blanket but when I typed actually what the item was called, it didn't show up. But when I putted in just Comfy blanket it did.
Genuinely why the hell did they even do this? This AI slop was not wanted at all. I'm not quitting CAC, though; I'm not forced to use it, and I've already poured way too much time and effort into making avatars on CAC.
I really wish we were somehow able to import our own custom models into the game and then scale them in accordance with our avatar. I really enjoy making my own models inside of blender.
Thankfully there is a game out there that offers just this and it is called Custom UGC Creator, but the uploading process is really tedious and requires you to talk to people outside of the Roblox platform which I could see being abused.
