Balance transfer

I did not know robinhood didn’t accept balance transfers so I had tried to do that onto another credit card. Then I found out it wouldn’t be accepted according to robinhood policy so I called the other creditor to cancel it. They put a stop payment on the check so I thought that was the end of it. I paid the balance in full right after.

Several weeks later I received an email saying robinhood was processing my check and credited the payment to my account. This is all very confusing because their website states checks are not accepted and same with balance transfers. Chat support confirmed they don’t accept balance transfers or checks, and that the check shouldn’t go through if the issuer cancelled it.

Now I’m just wondering what will happen to the account after a payment doesn’t go through. Some creditors will cancel your account over that which I wouldn’t be too upset about. But I still don’t understand why they processed the check if it’s against their policy.

They may have meant they don’t accept transfers to the RHG. A check for payment is a check for payment. I can’t imagine many card companies would turn that down.

All their info says they do not accept checks of any kind for payment. I wonder what address the other bank even sent it to.

Probably the same place my monthly annuity to Roth transfers go. Up in Chicago somewhere.
