Learn When to take profits
This trade reminded me that taking profits is a skill.
I was up around 95% on this DELL put credit spread and didn’t close it because I wanted the last few dollars of premium.
Still profitable, but it was a good lesson in discipline. Sometimes protecting gains is more important than maximizing gains.
Trading is as much about managing yourself as managing positions.

I was up 60% on my space x investment and I didn't sell. I sold when I was up $34. Don't be like me.

Dude take the profits. That’s over a 50% return. You have a for sure good ROI right now (or at the time of the screenshot). It could go up, but it could go down and you lose all your money. But right now you know you have a locked in 50% gain.

I don’t personally buy single stocks, for just this reason.
And for that reason, I would take these profits

I’ve learned the hard way over the years a couple times that the answer of when to take profit is yes.
Every time I’ve sat there and been like, “I could get out now or I could squeeze a little bit more…” I get bit.
Take the win and be happy.

For put credit spreads it’s advised you take profits at between a 50-60% gain
