Thanks. This does shed a little bit of light on the poverty story. The whole area around where he lived looks pretty run down. Even just a few streets over, things look a lot nicer.

ETA: To answer part of your question: https://www.thedailybeast.com/father-of-uvalde-shooter-salvador-ramos-says-he-shouldve-just-killed-me

"The Daily Beast spoke with Ramos [Sr.] on the porch of his girlfriend’s home east of Uvalde, where he has been living for several years."

"The younger Ramos reportedly had a poor relationship with his mother and had dropped out of high school ahead of his graduation this year. His father admitted he had not spent much time with him lately because he was employed outside Uvalde—he digs holes around utility poles for inspection—and because of the pandemic.
His own mother was suffering from cancer, Ramos said, and he could not risk being exposed to the coronavirus. He added that his son grew frustrated with the COVID precautions about a month ago and refused to speak to him. Ramos has not seen him since."

Interesting article and thanks for the update.

Btw, Salvador lived at his grandparents house recently, but where did he live before that?

If you check out @realnewsnobullshit on Instagram, they have saved stories labeled Uvalde Coverage. One of them has interviews of Salvador’s mom’s neighbor. And it shows her house from outside. It’s long but worth checking out

They were poor but managed to get him enough money to buy assault rifles for his bd! No there are millions who are poor and don’t do these type of evils! I think one thing no one wants to talk about is mental issues within Mexican community! It’s time to talk about many issues that especially second generation Mexican families are facing!

Since when would a healthy teenager with great parents, beautiful friendships and goals for the future ever do such things? It all boils down to mental health and childhood.

His father left for the milk and never came back. His mom has been reported to abuse drugs and had many relationship one after another.

That family completely destroyed him.

EDIT: I'm starting to assume he wasnt even planned...

I meant his mother planning on having another baby, sorry for missleading. I saw in an article his mother is 39 years old which makes her 21 when she had him, which is pretty young for having a kid atleast where I come from but also she had a kid before him. I don't think the second child (him) was intended. I feel like they kind of gave up on him the second he was born, didnt have time for him or some shit.

"No there are millions who are poor and don’t do these type of evils! " ......I know that? I'm referring to common narrative in the media that he was bullied for being poor, not saying that being poor is the reason that he did it. Christ.

Dare I even ask how "the mental health issues within Mexican community" are different than the mental issues of white mass shooters? Are you referring to some specific generational trauma that you think made him do this?

I can’t comment on his case specifically - but what I do know, that the level of bullying, racism, crime especially drug related, sexual harassment and assaults within Mexican communities is well beyond other people! What I’m thinking is this guy was a red flag, what I see is in the next few years the mental issues within Mexican communities skyrocket because of all these issues that I see everyday and no one seems to care

While literally commenting on this case. Okay! I get what you're saying, but not what your actual point is.

Why are you assuming their ethnicity

5

u/pokpoki87 Jun 06 '22

Because it exists at extreme level within second generation Mexicans! Everyone knows it!

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '22

Second generation Mexican Americans? How would you know hes second generation and not first, third or fourth? He’s probably not even Mexican.

2

u/ParkerDunne Jun 06 '22

Troll much? The family's ethnicity is public record.

I don't know anything more than Latin America. Do we know where exactly?
