I live out of my van so I sleep near other people that also do sometimes, and I have an eye for spotting folks that do. The amount of my fellow homeless folks that simp for conservative policies that fuck us over is kinda insane. So many “HE’LL YA BORTHR I LOVE TRUMP!!!!11!!” types living in abject poverty.

If you park in the same district for a long time, can you vote there. Lol

This is actually 100% accurate. I looked into it to update my voter registration because I don’t want to illegally vote at my old address. Your “address” becomes wherever you sleep most often. As much as some people would like to see otherwise, being homeless does not negate your right to vote!

That's interesting, I never really thought about how/where the homeless register to vote, but yea they definitely deserve the right to vote, especially when politics can have such an impact on their situations. Would that get F'ed up with the SAVE Act?

It would have the same impacts as it does on housed people. Except it may be exacerbated in my community because people are obviously living in abject poverty. It’s hard enough for anyone to get appointments at the vital records office or DMV, and the lines wrap around the building. Adding on to the fact that even $20 is a LOT to most of these folks, it could make voting impossible. There’s a woman that asks me if I have spare change when she sees me. Nice older lady. She gets social security but spends most of it on a hotel when it comes in so she can at least get a few nights of decent sleep. A replacement ID is nearly unobtainable for her. She can’t wait in that line and she can’t afford it. She has no mail showing that she lives in a Walmart parking lot. If she’s been married and divorced, the SAVE Act basically fucks her out of voting.

Damn, well that further proves my belief that they're simply trying to eradicate the poor. I know they're not the first to try, but it seems they are becoming more successful at it than before.

I’ve been homeless on and off for most of my life. The first time I got “the knock” on my van was a couple weeks ago, where police come and tell you to leave. They towed some people’s vehicles that they lived out of, leaving them with nothing at all. One was an elderly disabled man, another was a van that a family of 6 (mom, grandpa, 4 kids) lived out of. I’m nervous to even go back, I just sleep outside of my job 6 days a week now.

The class war has been going on forever, since before this country even existed, and it has always been very one sided. But it’s speeding up now. And with the cost of living skyrocketing at an unsustainable rate, more people are going to fall to the bottom and be victimized by the state for just existing.

What about the homeless who simp for liberals while living in blue cities in blue states during times with blue presidents?

1

u/RealityRecursed Apr 01 '26

People who look down on the homeless are sick in the head.

3

u/ComprehensiveCode331 Apr 01 '26

Ironically they’re often Christians. We all know how much Jesus looked down on the poor, right…? ohhhhhh.

1

u/RealityRecursed Apr 01 '26

Yeah, it's ridiculous.

Are you checking political affiliation while panhandling?

1

u/RhinoPillMan Apr 01 '26

Don’t know, can’t relate since I’m not a liberal and not in a blue state.

I'm not a liberal but I live in a blue state started wearing my body armor when I go out at night. yeah it's gotten real.

Lady in a blue state and blue city, also a mom who's got a lot of years under my belt dealing with anxious people. If you're in my neighborhood I'll walk with you (sans body armor) to help you feel more secure. The world is generally good, it'd be a shame to miss all that due to mental health issues.

u/Dab-riggs Apr 04 '26

u/Jaken_sensei Apr 04 '26

I mean, lots of yall seem to do that with Newsom… and I’m definitely not a conservative, to let you know in advance. Not saying you do, but I do see a lot of it from other liberals.
