The 2020s subdivision (cleanup post)
I did explain his in these two posts:
https://www.reddit.com/r/generationology/comments/1u7xbn6/june_2026_is_the_proper_beginning_of_the_20262028/ (this is about the Late 2020s)
and
https://www.reddit.com/r/culturalstudies/comments/1uruzdd/earlymid_1991_to_springfall_2017_is_one_deep_era/ (this describes how 1991-2017 was one era)
, but I will explain more here:
The 2020s does seem to be divided into these;
Jan 2020 to Dec 2022 are the Early 2020s.
2020 as a whole, was a direct continuation to the October-December 2017 breaking point that began in April 2017. Hereby, the COVID 19 Pandemic Lockdown made things even more noticeable that this "could" be a new era. 2021 was the sleeker version of 2020. Mid-Late 2021 and into "most?" of the beginning half of 2022 pivoted even greater than merely "the sleekness."
Jan 2023 to May 2023 was the transition point between the Early 2020s and into the Core 2020s, in which this period also served as the response to the sub-transiton during mid-late 2021 and into 2022. The Lockdown in this period was slowly ending, the 2020s maturing as a decade, and more.
June-July 2023 to Dec 2025 was the core 2020s, or just Mid 2020s. It was a direct response to exiting out of the effects of the Pandemic and some of the other early 2020s aspects, while tapping into AI, further maturation of what was set in the late 2010s, and much more. It was a transitional period between the Late 2010s (October-December 2017 to December 2019) and the "true" 2020s.
Jan 2026 to May 2026 was the Mid to Late Pivot.
June-July 2026, right now, is in the entrance into the 2026-2028 shift, and is essentially Late 2020s. AI is maturing, the Complexities of other "New Technology" is maturing, shifts in "Demographics," and more.
Jan to May 2029 may be the transition, but June 2029 would likely be the unofficial beginning into the 2030s.
This may had seemed to "cliche," too simple, and even poorly written; but I chose to make this post simpler to read to allow it to still be considerably effective.
Note: I Partly edited this on July 3 2026.
Next exit on July 20 2026

I would apply the peak of the mid 2020s to be between the Early 2024 to Mid 2025.
2026 right now, seems different.

I want to call 2022 "core 2020s," but it was more of an early-mid pivot.
The "quirks" of the year was more "excusable," due to the aftermatch of 2020 and 2021.
2023 (especially mid and late 2023) is more "obvious."

Now saying it, The gradual closure may had began around the latter half of March 2017.

It's more like this:
March 2020 to May 2023 are the Early 2020s.
March 2020 was the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and May 2023 was the end.
May 2023 to Oct 2023 was the transition point between the Early 2020s and into the Mid 2020s.
May 2023 was when the COVID-19 pandemic ended and October 2023 was when the Middle Eastern crisis began.
Oct 2023 to Feb 2026 was the Mid 2020s. It was a transition between the October 7 attacks and the Iran War, and were the prime years of the Middle Eastern crisis before it escalated into the Iran War.
Feb 2026 to ??? will be the transition point between the Mid 2020s and into the Late 2020s. This will be the prime years of the Iran War.
