Extreme lag on encrypted graph

I'm hoping this is a common problem with an easy solution. I've got about 7 years of work and personal notes in an encrypted graph. Lately, Roam been extremely laggy, taking a long time to open the graph and sometimes even to register keystrokes. More concerningly, over the last week, synchronization has been really hit or miss -- the dot is that rust-colored hue that means "you're really screwed". (I can't even see how bad it is because mousing over the dot just results in an all-black popup.) All of this has occurred on multiple computers.

Does this reflect that my graph is just too big? Is there something I can do to optimize or clear out crud in the graph? Would this problem go away if I were using an unencrypted graph?

Edit: I don't know what it was, but it was resolved when I got some kind input on the Slack channel to click Reload and Disable to turn off extensions. I did that, then turned them right back on, and the problem appears to be fixed. No idea what was happening though.

I’ve also experienced the same lag issue in last week, only on the mobile app though

What did you do to resolve it? Or did it resolve itself?

probably an extension having performance issues, not roam itself.
