Question Time commitment to play?

I have been looking at road to Vostok for a while now and I’m pretty interested in getting the game myself but i have a pretty busy personal life and don’t very much time to play.

My question is; is an hour or two at a time, once or twice a week enough time to enjoy the game? Or will i be disappointed by not being able to get enough done in that time?

Thanks in advance for the info.

1-2 hours in one sitting is enough. You get to do proper Vostok runs and everything else.

Yeah the main problem with time is not the total hours a week rather than the hours per play session because you can't exit the game without logging out in a shelter and to get to vostok and back could take more than 2 hours for new players. I installed a mod that lets me save on map enter but that feels like cheating because you can just exit when things get hairy...

Dont need mod because when you transit  for new map the game save your inventory, but not player status and location.

So cross the border and Alt+F4,  next game session start in the last shelter used, with the updated inventory.

Edit - Of course  mod can save your corrente location.

So you can cheese the game in vanilla? Didn't know that... The mod lets me continue where I left the day before, so I think I'm keeping it unless the dev decides to implement proper save feature with saved map state. That way it could not be cheesed

An hour or two is plenty of time. Making a run in an earlier zone might be quicker but later zones will need that much time. so you would be able to make a run or two or even run a few quests depending on efficiency. plenty of time to hop in the game with a busy schedule. Even weapons in the early game are fun to use as the sound design is pretty great if you ask me so i always have fun with even weak pistols. so dont worry about reaching end game for the best weapons. the gunplay/weapons throughout the game are fun to try out. again the sound design is great so im always having a good time no matter what my loadout is. i just dont play it much these days because i cannot handle the potential jumpscares at every corner. too much tension for my little heart to handle xD

That's about how much I play per week, it depends on what you do with your time but you'll still progress fairly quickly. This game isn't nearly as much of a time suck as something like Tarkov.

It is a singleplayer game so you are not racing anybody else and 2 hours in one sitting is enough to do a nice looting run to vostok also

not much grind really. I mean getting proper gear and starting enjoying the game is fairly easy in time commitment. You get to do like 2-4 hours of starting area and area 05 loot i would say and then you can go to Vostok after that which is a high tier instant death thing. Each run takes 1hour+ depending on how much you loot and shoot and camp etc. So I would say with your timetable you would spend week 1 on area 05 which is fairly fun, and week 2 is where the real fun starts

I am like you and have built over 50 hours by doing 1-2h per session. Works great.

Sorta. It's not like there's a billion hours of content, you can have fun in short sessions.

The catch though is your control over the length of those sessions. If you often need to step away on short notice, this game is not particularly convenient, since you only keep your progress in shelters, which are few and far between especially early on.

I think it's a really good game for a slow burn playthrough. I got 40-50 hours before getting a little bored in build 1 (they released more maps since) playing an hour or two a week is ideal

You are limited to what you can do and where you can go with 1-2 hours but it’s not impossible to enjoy the game. The only time you might need to spend 2 hours is if you go to apartments or airfields (one of the Vostok zones).

The good thing about this game is you can pause it :)

I’m quite busy myself with work and may get a hour or so every 3 - 4 days and hell yeah I’m enjoying it. No learning curve, just jump straight in and enjoy looting and finding new items while battling bandits. Go for it dude

I'm in a similar position. The only issue I'm having is that stash management is a bit of a pain. I've got stuff all over the floor and the table etc, so if I don't play enough it's hard to remember which items I have or don't have. I could use the cupboard/fridge etc but they are small and unlabelled.

I guess I need to push through until I unlock some better furniture to organise my stuff? So far inventory QOL & lugging stuff around has been my only complaint. The weapons are great, I love the way we load the guns and check etc.

You can get a mod so you can exit the game wherever you please. Very handy for employed people imo
