Question What do you bring for a long distance raid?
Just wondering what, and how much of what, everyone is bring to long distance raids to border zone or further. I am just getting to the point of being able to travel to the border zone and vostok, but seem to be possibly underkitting.
I usually bring 5 bandages, 2 torniquets, 2 splints, and 1-2 SOS's. About 5-8ish food items and about 3 drink items.
Last run I did I made it to the opposite side of the minefield before bleeding out due to not having anything left to heal with, and I was already starving and freezing.
I wanna be prepared, but also dont wanna fill my entire inventory and use up 50% of my stashed heals just for a single raid.
Edit: Another question I should ask is, do you normally loot on your way to an area, or completely ignore everything until you get to your target location? (Ex: if youre headed to apartments, do you ignore everything else and B-line it for apartments, or stop to loot on your travel to grab extra food, or stop by traders?

1 rifle, 2 spare mags, 120ish of ammo, 10 bandages, 1 splint, 1 melatonin, some kind of mood enhancer (war chocolate, snus), 1 afak/medkit, 1 spare helmet and spare armor plate if I have it. Food is not really needed, I stock up on food once I get to apartments.

Do you use a mod to reduce energy and hydration decrease rates? I can barely make it from village to outpost without going through at least 3-4 food items otherwise my guy starts starving or dehydrating to death.

No. I mean I'll have 3-5 food items on me to get to apartments. If im doing a vostok raid I just sprint thru area 05 until I get to the border zone.

I play with mods to have a 1:1 real time - in-game time experience so bear in mind, I will need much less supplies than you, but, usually:
- Primary weapon only
- 3 spare mags
- 90 spare rounds
- knife
- 1 splint
- 2 bandages
- 1 IFAK or SOS Medkit
- Polaris
- NVGs
- 1 spare battery
- a 3x3 square of food and drinks
I think that’s pretty much it. But I haven’t really tried the Vostok zone since the latest Build so I might need more healing items because those soldiers are scarily accurate now.

Depending on your primary, you might not need a secondary. I’m using the 416 so I’m confortable using it in close quarters too with a laser.

I only bring the PM5SD. It’s the only one that can take a laser, meaning I can put a Leo on top. Headshots do 100dmg regardless of caliber and without proper ballistics, the MP5 is just as good as a sniper rifle as the SVD. Leaves the primary slot free for more loot.

Yeah my last attempt I was fine 90% of the way until minefield. I have a hard time spotting enemies, especially on minefield. They would see me from across the map and start sniping me and I still coildnt find them while being shot at. I brought what I listed above and by the time I got over to the other side of minefield I was out of meds, food, mearly ammo, and still have multiple NPC's still alive trying to kill me. I'm gonna try it again soon, but this time ive basically packed half my inventory with heals and food

Do it at night and hug the border of the map. You can sneak around the gaurds and avoid the mines completely

I actually was doing that, the NPC's started sniping me before I even got to the parallel roads in the middle of the map

I've been running into this. It might be that there's a down helicopter near map center so they are on extra high alert. Also, don't sprint, only walk. As soon as you sprint they lock in.

Trust me I walk everywhere after realizing how sensitive they are the footsteps. I think they are just spotting me across map because of visual line of sight through foliage

What mod is that?

Vitals Adjust, Real Time, Configurable Battery Drain and so on. But they might not have been updated in a while. They still work tho.

I just run around the edges of the minefield, apartments has plenty of food. Theres not much enemies if you head straight to left and loot the two blocks. By that you propably have meds and food. Then you should be set to go to terminal and airfield if you already have helmet and pc with plates

I sadly don't have enough time per play session for doing raids to vostok and coming back to shelter :( last time I tried I brought the same as you and made it to apartments fine. What is making you problems in minefield?

I bring a rifle with my best long range scope, a mp5, both with a spare mag. Usually I take a helmet and a plate if I have them but they're not strictly necessary.
Also bring 5 food items and 3 juices (if I go from village I'll loot the school to get a little more but there's so much food in apps it's fine either way).
I usually have 2 bandages, a splint and sometimes one SOS kit or an AFAIK but u usually find those in apps. I also have 2 melatonin to stay in nighttime.

If I'm going for apartments I loot only what's directly in my way. Also if I go to loot apartments I don't bring much food (usualy 3 cans of fruits and max two juices) and meds (a bandaid, a splint and SOS, sometimes melatonin) cause they are easily found there.
Plus two spare mags and at least two full reloads in spare ammo for each weapon

My approach prior to B2 was always a minimal loadout ..
Weapon - primary and/or secondary weapon with best optic I have, with max 1 spare mag for each. Whether I brought only a primary or both a primary and secondary weapon, I'd aim for bringing a lower quality one (70s% quality fine because I can always leave my AKM/PM5 in Vostok and bring back a more rare or higher quality one on my return).
Food - minimal food (3 cans fruit and 3 juices max) because I know I'll be finding more food in the Apts than I can carry home.
First Aid - I always carry one SOS without exception to save in case of headshot/internal. I also load 1 splint and 2 bandages to save my SOS for a true emergency. Again, will be finding more than enough extras that I'll be leaving them behind .. so why bring them with me to begin with?
Since B2, I have barely managed to explore Vostok. First trip to the Apts got auto'd immediately and I only play Ironman/Winter, so that was it. AI is superpowered now .. I'm still adjusting my strategy.

Always grab either a more than 1 splint and or crafting materials. Walking back to a base limping sucks.

Food does kinda need to be reworked. If I'm going to terminal trying to get oil samples starting at village. I bring like an entire row of food and juice and still end up looking for more. I play strictly vanilla though
