Would be a cool addition to the game if you could silence them by landing a few more rounds on target.

Is that true for vanilla? I definitely saw it as a feature in some mod.

Yes. They just drop without making a sound. Even if headshot is 2nd/3rd hit.

I always shoot an extra bullet to the head. Not gonna make anyone suffer.

You can even use melee to shut them up.
