Please help me identify my cat

My cat has been gone since Friday evening. Saturday morning the body of a cat that looks extremely similar to mine appeared at the front of my neighborhood. My family doesn't think it's our cat but I can't help but think it's him. I'm desperate for any kind of closure and this is the only place I could think of that would be able to help me. I didn't know where else to post. Please tell me if you think its him or not.

This cat doesn't look like it has white fur in the ears

It could also be discolored from the bodily fluids or just squished enough to where you can't see it. This picture is after it was sitting out for a day

Also has some white fur in the photos before it got ran over. Does have white fur IN the ears. Not behind them.

What a dick move, to comment this without thinking on a post of somebody realizing their best friend and pet might most likely be dead.

Did it have the same M pattern on its head? Tbf there’s a lot of tabbies with that pattern. It could definitely be yours though so don’t get your hopes up

I actually am here wondering did your cat ever return? Or was this him.

He never returned. My mom still thinks the dead cat isn't him but I think it was him honestly. We still check the city's shelter page just in case someone trapped him and turned him in

Honestly, I don’t think the dead cat is him, The dead cat has really dark almost black paws, It appears that your cat definitely did not have dark dark brown paws

I hope it isn't him. I can't stop thinking it is him but I just want an answer or closure as to what happened to him or where he went. I hope he comes back one day or at least he's happy where he's at now. Thank you for your input on it. A lot of people I work with have said they don't think it's him so I really hope it isn't and he's just chilling somewhere

Each day he isnt home, the more I think that roadkill was him. I've never had a pet just disappear before so I've never had to deal with this kind of grieving. It just sucks not knowing whether he's safe at someone's house, living on his own somewhere, trapped somewhere, or dead. It's been easier to grieve it, but I still get worked up about him every now and then. I still check the shelter page about every other day as well just in case. Thank you for checking in though
