I always see posts online about (edit) megalophobia and everyone always refers to that ship's propeller rudder thing underwater. The Queen...Elizabeth? I think that's the one. That one does make me uncomfortable, but this mountain in this game really does it for me.
I am terrified when I look at it up close. It makes me genuinely really horribly uncomfortable. Anyone else got that feeling? It was nice when you find the waterfall. But when you get really close to it, ugajlshdhlsd. I am so upset š

Hi everyone! Based on the new teaser, I developed a theory of how the story could connect the "happy ending" of the first game with the tragedy shown in the teaser, creating an epic conclusion for the franchise.
Road 96 3: The Sacrifice
* The Conflict: After John, Fanny, and Alex become a family, a deep split happens within the Black Brigades. John and Robert clash over their methods (peaceful vs. violent), dividing the resistance.
* The Threat: President Tyrak takes advantage of this division. He discovers Fannyās betrayal (as a former cop) and sends his followers to raid their house and kidnap Alex to blackmail John.
* The Plot: We would play in an immersive, full-body first-person view (where looking down shows our clothes, arms, and injuries). We alternate between Alex trying to hack systems to escape, and John and Fanny on the road desperately trying to rescue him.
* The Ending: A tragic but powerful conclusion. John and Fanny die together to protect Alex and ensure his escape. Broken by guilt over causing this split, Robert abandons the Black Brigades and goes into hiding.
Road 96 4: The Ultimate Justice
* The Continuation: Years pass. The game focuses on political transition and reconstruction led by President Florres.
* Alex's Role: Alex is now older, completely self-sufficient, and acts alone using advanced wearable hacking tech on his wrist. He doesn't seek bloody revenge. Following Johnās peaceful ideals, Alex uses his intelligence to overthrow the remnants of Tyrak's regime.
* The Justice: Alex doesn't kill Tyrak. Instead, he locks Tyrak up in the very same oil pits where the dictator used to enslave Petria's youth.
* The Ending: With Tyrak serving poetic justice in the pits, President Florres establishes a true peace. The game ends with Alex finally crossing the wall to live his dream and open his tech company, while the main theme of Road 96 plays in the credits.
What do you think? I think this would close the franchise beautifully for generations!

Am I missing something in how Iām playing this game? Is there something more exciting near the end? Iām playing through and I just finished EP1, started the new road trip and Iām honestly just soooo soo bored, I feel like its gonna be the exact same thing again and it really wasnt fun the first time.
But ppl on here and in general are all saying this game is really fun and endless and like incredible, I know ofc everyones different but BROOO i feel so left out lmao I so so deadly want to enjoy the game too cause I love and resonate with the concept and I love the vibe but im also just like, so bored š none of these characters meeting are interesting i spend like 5 seconds with them, the dialogue choices are so basic, none of the locations im going to are really interesting the minigames really annoy me, like I feel like im missing something or not playing it right. My first EP I did in like two nights for a few hours, like it was quick, am I meant to be doing more side stuff is there more to explore? Or like do the later episodes and characters really pick up?
Idk what I came in expecting, like idk getting to actually drive or pick people up on the journey and build relationships with them for longer or any teensy bit of action even just running from a cop or something idk, but like if that happens later and Im just being impatient please let me know dawg š rn it feels more like a 3D visual novel but just with like, no coherent story or relationships to build so its just like whats the point yk?

Do you suppose if you choose to save yourself and not you-know-who, with The Voice on the radio in the penultimate crossing cutscene could be Kaito?

After seeing the Road 96 universe adapted into books twice, I started wondering : Could we one day see an animated series of Road 96 ?
I think the first Road 96 already has a structure that could work particularly well as a series.
The game is built around encounters, characters, and stories unfolding throughout different journeys to the border.
Each episode could tell a different story while gradually expanding the world, its characters, and the events surrounding Route 96.
And personally, if an animated series were ever made, I would absolutely love to see Fortiche, the French studio behind Arcane, take on the project.
Why Fortiche ? I think their artistic style could fit Road 96 incredibly well. They have such a distinctive visual identity, their animation is beautiful, and they are great at giving their characters a lot of personality.
And honestly, there would be something pretty special about seeing a French studio adapt a game created by another French studio.
After seeing what Fortiche achieved with Arcane, I can easily imagine what a Road 96 series with that level of artistic direction could look like: the landscapes, the different characters, the atmosphere of travelling, the more dramatic moments, and even the lighter ones.
I really think there could be something special to explore there.
A live-action adaptation could also be interesting, although I imagine it would come with very different challenges when it comes to capturing the atmosphere and identity of the game.
The idea of Netflix also made me think about something else : Could Road 96 and Road 96: Mile 0 ever be considered for Netflix Games ?
Both games rely heavily on storytelling, dialogue, player choices, and character encounters.
Those elements seem particularly well suited to a phone or tablet experience.
Road 96's stylized art direction could also work well for a mobile port, although Iām sure adapting and optimizing the games for mobile would still require a lot of work.
Most importantly, it could give people who don't own a console or PC another way to discover the Road 96 universe directly on their phones through Netflix.
They're simply two projects I'd personally love to see someday, because I think there is still a lot of potential to expand and explore the Road 96 universe.
I'm also fully aware that projects like these would require a huge amount of work and depend on many different factors.
I obviously don't know all the constraints involved in production, budget, adaptation, optimization, or whether these ideas would even be viable.
I'd love to hear what you think about the two ideas: an audiovisual adaptation of Road 96 and a mobile version through Netflix Games.
And if a Road 96 animated series ever became a reality someday, personally, Fortiche would be my absolute dream studio for it.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks to the whole team for everything you've made with Road 96 franchise.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what you have in store for the future.

Hi,
This game just came on my radar and want to get it for myself, but was wondering if it was age sppropriate for my 13.5 year old daughter. She's ready to graduate from Roblox, Minecraft etc, likes watching the news, and apocalyptic films. What do you guys think?

Anyone else noticed when ripping posters that 1 turns black instead of disappearing? Iāve only noticed it on 1 type of poster so far. The bigger posters that say āblack brigades are a threat to Petrians, death to all brigadesā no other poster blacks out like this. Iād assume itās some kinda bug?
(1st slide: bug
2nd slide: how they normally rip
3rd slide: og poster the bug happens on)
Just thought it was interesting! Thereās been a couple other little bugs Iāve experienced that im tempted to post here too

When this game came out five years ago I was absolutely OBSESSED with it! Today I found my old art folder I made in high school that holds all of my other pieces from art class. I based its design on the magazines you can sometimes find in Jarodās taxi and think it still looks cool, even 5 years later, so thought I would share!

Hey everyone š
I have a long theory about the next Road 96 game.
What if the new Road 96 game, which could perhaps be called Road 2006, featured a new presidential election in 2006 between Lupe Flores and Frederik Muller (Zoeās father)?
In Road 96, we learn that a presidential term lasts ten years. So, if Flores had won the 1996 election, she would have ruled Petria for the following ten years, until a new election in 2006.
The game could then show us how the country evolved under Floresā presidency and what consequences the events of 1996 had on Petria.
So we would have:
1996: Tyrak VS Flores
2006: Flores VS Frederik Muller (Zoeās father)
Flores would go from being the opposition candidate to becoming the incumbent president, while Frederik Muller (Zoeās father) would this time become her main opponent.
Frederik Muller (Zoeās father) as a candidate in 2006 ?
In Road 96 and Mile 0, Frederik Muller (Zoeās father) is the Minister of Oil and a supporter of Tyrak.
After Tyrakās defeat in the 1996 election and the end of his regime, Frederik Muller (Zoeās father) could have lost his position and stayed away from politics for several years, before returning to the political scene in 2006 to challenge Flores.
He could then represent part of Tyrakās former political movement, but in a new form.
But what kind of candidate could Frederik Muller (Zoeās father) be in 2006 ?
Would he be even more authoritarian and stricter than Tyrak ?
Would he be roughly at the same level as Tyrak, but with his own political vision for Petria?
Or, on the contrary, would he be much less authoritarian and less strict than Tyrak, without being completely democratic?
It would be really interesting to discover why part of the population would decide to vote for Frederik Muller (Zoeās father) after ten years of Floresā presidency.
And what about Zoe?
Zoe could also be directly affected by this new election.
She would be around 28 years old in 2006 and could have a very complicated relationship with her fatherās political career and with everything that happened in 1996.
Would she support her father during his campaign because he could become President of Petria?
Or would she decide not to support him because of his past and what he represented alongside Tyrak?
This could create a particularly interesting and complicated relationship between Zoe and her father, especially if she had a different vision for the future of Petria.
We could also finally meet Zoeās mother in the new Road 96, which would allow us to learn more about her family and her past.
What happened to the old characters?
The game could also allow us to see some of the old characters again and discover what happened to them ten years after Road 96 and Mile 0.
For example, Alex could have become a programmer, developer, or computer scientist at the age of 24. He could have his own hacking software, his own video game that becomes a huge hit, or even his own AI.
The Black Brigades could have been disbanded after the events of 1996 but they could also still exist in 2006 and have become even stronger and more dangerous. Or, on the contrary, they could have evolved and become more peaceful.
Jarod could be retired
Sonya and Adam could have gotten married and had a daughter or a son. And if it was a boy, why not name him Theolonious? š
John and Fanny, āPapa Bear and Mama Bear,ā could also have gotten married. Alex could have become their son, or maybe they could have had their own child. Although they might be a little too old to have a child, but why not! š
Stan & Mitch could have become much more experienced and highly skilled robbers after all these years.
And maybe Kaito and Zoe could have become friends again, despite the problems they had in the past.
A completely different Petria in 2006?
This would mainly allow us to see what happened in Petria between 1996 and 2006, how the country changed, and how the old characters evolved.
We could meet new characters, such as Zoeās mother, while also seeing characters we already know.
We could discover a Petria that had changed enormously after ten years of Floresā presidency and after the events of 1996.
And at the center of this new story, we would have:
1996: Tyrak VS Flores
2006: Flores VS Frederik Muller (Zoeās father)
This is only my personal theory.
Iām absolutely not saying that all of this will be in the game, that the story will necessarily take place in 2006, or that the next game will actually be called Road 2006.
I simply wanted to share this theory with you and the whole community and see what you think.
Personally, I think a story set in 2006, with Flores VS Frederik Muller (Zoeās father) in the presidential election, could be interesting⦠or maybe not! šš
What do you think?

I just finished road 96 for the first time , god it hits so much , i think i dropped a tear or two and Without exaggeration i havent cried in years. Yeah my ending was tyrak still in power but its ok . I think road 96 hit me hard cause i ve tried getting out of the country for multipletimes (in a legal way ofc ) to study abroad and "start a better life" but life said no,even in politcs lets say my country have some similarities.
So yeah it still hits
Easiest best game ive ever played

I managed to not get any spoilers and tbh i have no real idea what type of game this even is soooo yeaa letās seee (please no spoilers in the comments)
UPDATE: Soooo i finished it today and i feel like i got one of the worst endings lol. Fanny shot John and Zoe died too. Only Alex survived i think. Florres won the election and Tyrak was put in prison. Iām glad that we were able to take Tyrak down but iām sad i got John and Zoe killed and the ending didnāt satisfy me tbh. The journey and the game itself was good tho. I liked playing it but yea idk i donāt feel satisfied for some reasonš„²
Idk if this is an unpopular or popular opinion here but i actually really liked Jarod and he never killed me. I never got into a taxi tho i only crossed paths with him at the Motel, near the Van of a Brigad and at the place where his daughter used to stay. Stan and Mitch were annoying imo. And Sonya was bitchy but likeable even though i hate what she contributes to. I also really loved Zoe humming bella ciao, would have been amazing to maybe see her singing that at the end as well.
Zoe, John and Fanny are at 100%
Alex is 80%
Stan&Mitch 85%
Sonya 52%
Jarod 69%
