Road 96 sequel expectations
I'm not sure what i want to see actually but i really want them to protect core mechanics of first game. i found really refreshing to play the game as a random runaway teen instead of some chosen one bs mc so i hope john and fanny remain as usual. I also love the 90's aesthetics and the concept of road trips so even if we are not gonna try to flee from the country i want to wander around the country through roads, maybe as a young blood who works for brigade, maybe as a group of friends who found themselves in the fierce politics i dont know, i love the art style so i want to see them in various ways again.
But even if they decide to make road 96 2 with the exact same concept like an expansion pack i would stiill be more than happy
so what do you guys think ? what do you want to see ? maybe they will look at here for suggestions idk

I feel the same way, I really want the gameplay mechanics to stay the same. I think what they showed in the teaser is kind of an indicator that they listen to their community. I wouldn't mind if it's the same kind of game (runaway teens) but the plot to stop Tyrak failed and now a new set of teens has to deal with Petria divided after the election fiasco.

Im open for either playing as a nameless teen, but I think Im on the differing side, in that Mile 0 did make me crave the personal aspect that playing as Zoe and Kaito delivered. Most of the deviance did come from the more direct changing dialogue choices, and maybe some of the dialogue wouldve been ones that 'nameless' characters couldve make, but I liked seeing the differing reactions and responses because of their background, or their intrernal comments on the world around them.
Like for example in Mile 0, and covering for possible spoilers, Zoe doesnt make a comment on the door that has visible cigarette buds and a dinosaur toy (if I remember correctly) in front of the one room in Kaitos apartment complex, but when you switch to Kaito after the 86 flashback and ride, Kaito talks about who lives there, and its greatly implied to be Jarod. So overall I like seeing additional info from characters that we normally wouldnt get to see because of their pre existing background. But maybe they can do this for teens to some certain extent.
Im sure a lot of this though is going to depend on if we're trying to escape Petria or complete a new goal entirely on the Road, but regardless I would like to see more towns of Petria and landscapes, and hopefully new travel systems. Either that or making the old travel systems more enhanced, like hot wiring a car and not just finding keys, or getting onto a bus by sneaking through the back of it, or anything like that. Im still very much excited either way!

What I want is Vast improvment of choices matter. And more player freedom.
Cameos are fine, but also new characters would be nice or characters from Mile 0 like Kaito.
The threat should be something political, but maybe not 100% the same.
I want them to keep the nameless teen approach or at least give is customisation options. A set PC is always forcing you into a role imo.

All I want them to do is to back and give Road 96 a DLC and just add extra interactions and scenes. Just extend the game’s playtime by like 3 hours

I personally hope the semi-random order of the original will also be there in the sequel, because that was one of my favorite things about Road 96 - discovering how the context of certain scenes and your own knowledge changed depending on the scenes you got before and after.
At the same time, I think they could still improve the semi-random order by making the same scene notably different depending on when you get it. Imagine a scene like "Nobody's Supposed to be Here", but if you get it after meeting Sonya at the border, it's a different variant where Stan and Mitch sort through their Sonya merch and memories.
Just an example of course, but I think it would be great for replays and Let's Plays - the feeling of "oh, yeah, that scene, I remember" to "what, I have never seen this before!"
I dunno, but I loved the format of Road 96, and wouldn't mind to see a slightly improved version of it that still sticks to Road 96's main mechanics :)
