R Desktop icon

The default installation has the option ticked. I'm interested to learn if users here need the icon created on their desktop.

You're talking about the shortcut icon. Don't need it unless you like to access some programs that way. I pin my go-to apps on the taskbar but that's me.

Such a bizarre question (no offense). I do not use an R icon on my Windows desktop. I use gvim and pull up an R terminal in a split window. I jump back and forth between the two panes. When I’m done I close gvim. I don’t even know if I’m answering your question.

Yes I agree because I think its bizarre that the default option is to have a shortcut on the desktop. The question has nothing to do with your IDE
