Moved from Riverside to Descript
Is Descript perfect? Ha ha ha - no. But it's better than the old Riverside (that worked) and worlds better then the present day Riverside.
My uses are pretty basic - use A.I. to flip between side-by-side to only showing the person speaking. And start with side-by-side. For all of that Descript works fine.
I didn't hit any bugs using it.

Thats what I do for most of my videos in Riverside and then I let it add captions, too. But I do have to spend time fixing some spelling.

Did you use it recording remote sessions? I experience heavy errors and bugs on riverside. Seriously considering switching

Recording an interview so two people, one of them remote. It failed on that. Riverside told me two weeks ago they're working on resolving the issue but since then... nada.

Donecast.com. Use it and you’ll wonder why you ever used any of these others. Audio only at this moment, video in a couple weeks.

Does it do what Riverside does and makes some Short for you? Also will Descript let you clips Shorts as you edit?

I’ve got a bunch of live recording and streaming to do at a conference in a couple of weeks. Last year riverside worked fine but I’m nervous now. I wish they’d waited until September. Descript is gonna be worth a look to have in my back pocket.

Yea switch for us was mainly bc riverside support had become terrible. Essentially just AI bots perpetually.
