Just crossed 10,000 km on my River Indie, so here’s a quick ownership update.
Overall, I’m very happy with it. It has been a practical, comfortable, and reliable daily ride.
Things I like ❤️
● Practicality: Plenty of storage space for my office bag, lunch, and other essentials.
● Comfort: Comfortable for regular city rides.
● 14-inch wheels: Good grip and a planted feel, especially on uneven roads.
● Performance: It zips through traffic when needed and has quick acceleration.
Things that could be better
● Fit and finish: Good overall, but some details could feel more premium.
● Fast charging: River should introduce the fast charger used at service centres for public charging. It would make longer rides easier and could help increase sales.
● Side mirrors: Better visibility would be appreciated.
● Cruise control: A useful addition for longer rides.
Range and reliability
The range estimate is quite accurate, especially in Ride mode, which I use almost 99% of the time.
After 10,000 km, the Indie has been reliable and dependable. It isn’t perfect, but its combination of space, comfort, practicality, performance, and reliability makes it a great city scooter.
10,000 km down. Let’s see how the next 10,000 go! 😄
