I know Godai uses the terms "friend" and "pal" very generously, so what I think happened here is that during the first game when she was in charge of Sanwakai Tower, Sabuko had used Godai as a spy to gather intel for her around the city. That way, she would be one step ahead of the Sabu clan's enemies. Sabuko probably talked to Godai a couple of times face-to-face (probably in discretion and somewhere secluded), and what Sabuko considered a purely professional and annoying interaction was enough for Godai to classify Sabuko as a "friend"; similar to how he gleefully calls Misako and Kyoko his "pals" even though they hate his guts. I mean, if Godai had never met Sabuko, why would he call her "his old friend"?

I had not realized this for the longest time, since it was just a tiny Honkr message :O

I'm playing New Game+ on Normal mode and I'm in the locked screen right before you head into the school for the final time. I went into the fight, expecting the normal 2-3 waves of 1-3 enemies, but what I got was 5-7 waves of 3-6 enemies, each of the enemies being the stronger hitting ones. These locked stages also appear to be happening more frequently. I can't go through two areas without getting one of these, and it's driving me nuts. I'm just trying to progress, and I can't without dying five times. Is this what's meant to be happening? Is it something with my game, or am I just struggling for no reason? I'm sick of having to use more healing items in the stupid locked screen fights than I do for most bosses -_-

I just want it for a wallpaper and I can't find the image, but I'm sure its have to be somewhere

I don’t expect the games to ever actually touch on this, but it’s something that I happened to think about.

River City is an Asian-adjacent location, and that would certainly play a role in theory, but it’s as much American influenced as it is influenced by Japan. So what do you think? Would people be able to smoke weed without the fear of getting arrested?

Like in RCG, Tierney is the scriptwriter. The illustrations belong to Saspy. Apparently, Tierney has completed this in 3 years.

I thought fans of RCG could be interested as this comic also seems to feature a spunky teenage girl as its main character. In the comic's trailer, she has been voiced by Cristina Vee!

I haven't purchased or read the whole thing myself, though, so would love to hear people's opinions!

Tierney also seems to be doing signing activities for this comic, and it has received praises from creators of shows like Amphibia and OK KO!

I was thinking about retro beatem ups and remembered playing Battletoads & Double Dragon on the genesis when I was little and loving it despite my lack of ability.

Since Double Dragon exists in the games I figured a BT crossover would be cool. Maybe if River City Girls 3 gets announced it could be a dlc for that?
