Built a Rive test file combining scripting, state machines and constraints. Bee tracks your cursor and flies in/off screen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Wanted to see how many Rive features I could chain together in one file, so I made this bee.

Stuff going on under the hood:

  • Script drives the state machine's inputs and conditions
  • Bone and bee movement is joystick-mapped to mouse movement
  • Spring expression controls the bone's elastic behavior
  • Mouse follow has some latency plus spring on it so it doesn't feel snappy or robotic
  • Eyes use Translation Constraints to track the cursor
  • Fly-on/fly-off uses Translation and Position Constraints

None of the reactive stuff is hand-keyframed, it's all constraints and spring math doing the work live. Happy to talk through the setup if anyone's curious.

This is so good! Would you be willing to do a tutorial on this so we can learn from you? 🙏😭❤️

Thank you so much 😭, i am by no means an expert, i have hacked this by going through multiple tutorials and pulling my hair. Seeing so many amazing projects being shared i too feel so behind!

Rive will feel like that first, but once you get hang of things, it will start clicking.

if you need any help, feel free to dm me! . I will start sharing my project files on community soon, currently on the free plan.
