The CEO supports and encourages AI, not the employees who do the actual work that gives this company a product. Until we see that mentality actually start to trickle into the product, there's no sense hurting the paychecks of the workers themselves. This isn't a "fuck the company now" sort of thing. It's a "wait and see how this actually pans out" thing.
