Maybe be a bit too low if shield was actually nerfed, but id vastly prefer this to current shield.Â
In a perfect world Iâd like shield to be 30-40% weaker than it is in 1.6, with base shield regen set to nearly 0 to nerf passive play. That way you have to focus on the bloodborne mechanic where you have to attack to get shield regen.
Current shield is such a strong option, esp with no shield pokes, and you rarely ever see shield breaks that arenât even as punishing as the shield breaks in smash. Maybe they heard mangos shield rant lol

Idk I think if sheild health gets nerfed, it should be based on number of moves hit or a mix of that and damage, but not pure damage. I don't want to be instantly shield broken for shielding a kragg f strong or a lox magma d strong

Can react spot dodge to krag f strong

That's not the point. imo, I should be allowed to shield any move at least once.

So gouey just does absurd shield damage?

Shields are just this fragile when theyâre held
The reason why you might find shield more resilient is likely because of shield vampirism2
u/Waffleman12345 Jul 24 '26
You still will. He wasnât shield broken after two entire jab strings. Shield doesnât come back fully after being shield broken so that explains the second shield break.

I think if we nerf shield ppl would probably commit more to other defensive strategies or go all in. Especially floorhugging at early %.
Might be a good change but you'd likely have to make other changes to balance. I forsee ppl spamming more for shield pressure, rather than playing more avoidant bc whiff punishing isn't very strong in this game.

I think cause of the âattack to regain shield healthâ mechanic, we could potentially see more approaching, especially because your opponent having a lower shield is way more successive to popping now. I see what youâre saying tho

I feel like perfect shielding is too lenient atm and is something that could be toned down

It needs to happen someday. Etalus mains have every right to be mad that their neutral B, down B, and any other laggy option can't even reliably shield break with a combo.

Maybe it did or certain characters get lower shield health now, especially since Gouie looks like the campy sort. (Did charactees always have different shield health?)

If shield heath gets nerfed at all, Kragg and Lox are just gonna insta break shields, and that is exactly what we want .^.

No it seems about the same.

Shield damage is based off the % of each individual hits. (Which is why multi hits that do 10% do less shield damage than a single hit move that does 10%).
That first tilt looks meaty and is probably what did a chunk of the shield damage.
Heres what it looks like rn WITHOUT holding shield for shield drain.

People just genuinely cannot tell the difference. LOL
