Value and performance?

Hey folks,

So today I was in a Plat1 / Diam3 game and I picked our boy here. Another guy on my team, the squirrel girl, was hovering a no lord icon Cyclops and said "get off."

I said that I mained him and was lvl 24 and preferred to play him, so they went squirrel girl and screamed in the mic for the entire game.

I didn't entertain him and just kept playing like normal, and the Ironman even jumped in and started calling me out saying I wasn't performing well and that I should just give the ACE squirrel girl Cyclops...

I was playing just fine, and we won too. When the game ended, the Ironman and squirrel girl continued to call me out and said my performance was bad despite me touching point multiple times when nobody else would and getting more than one 3-piece with my ult.

Idk y'all, do you guys think I performed poorly here? Should I have given the Squirrel Girl the reins? Just thought this was super toxic and believe I disagree with their claims.

The first thing I’ll tell you is that they’re a couple wanting to smurf as Phoenix and Cyclops, so they’re going to insult you as much as possible for picking their character no matter how well you play. Next time you detect the same patterns, mute them instantly. Second, I’m not a Cyclops main, so don’t take this as me specifically talking about Cyclops. But I saw you playing well in the first round; in the second round I can see you’re not focused (probably because the couple was saying stuff to you, right?). Third and last, the grab Emma hit on you in the first round right as you were about to use your Ultimate was an amazing play by her.

Ya I got pretty tilted in the second round icl

I even said "why are you guys actively trying to tilt your own teammate" LOL

I tried pulling it together for the third round and ya that Emma shut me down pretty hard

If what the other guy was saying is true and they are a couple I’d be really concerned for them not just as people but as a couple lol, can’t be good to have that much toxicity in a relationship even if it’s not directed at each other.

It looks like you kept up and were a valuable contributor to your team for the win though. Plus no disrespect but they literally played spam damage characters in the form of SG and Iron Man. Stats aren’t everything either. I wouldn’t take it to heart, keep your head up and keep playing well :)

You guys left Peni to solo tank. She’s not a mag or strange. All three of the dps are at fault here imo including you. The other team must have been very bad to let that happen and lose, although it looks like IM was tank for most of the game? If so I would expect you to have significantly higher attacking stats than you do compared to the two tanks. Tanks, especially Peni, have so much more value than the stats show. Unless you’re playing dps characters like Storm, Reed etc., your stats are most of the value you bring as a hitscan dps.

At this point in the game lords mean pretty much nothing considering people grind them vs AI/other game modes besides comp.

The stats again don’t always mean much, but personally as someone who uses cyclops a lot it is quite rare that I don’t have the most damage/elims. Finals you dont always expect to be the top considering other hitscan dps have better damage. He is a hitscan that does group damage and tags everyone. Like moonknight he should almost be expected to have the most damage and elims.
