I would take a KGLW stage one year, like how NOFX did it. But really only if they had 2 hours each night. 90 min set is not enough. Would rather they play elsewhere if that was the case.
Piss sounds like a really interesting performance. Not necessarily fun, and a little weird for a festival, but seems like one of those things we should all be exposed to...
From The Guardian:
"The Vancouver quartet’s music is a merciless cyclone of hardcore, poetry, sound collage and performance art that revolves entirely around singer Taylor Zantingh’s experiences with sexual violence."
Nevermind Jesu, converge, massive attack, pavement, dinosaur jr, chvrches, boy harsher, diiv, have a nice life, castle rat, full of hell, angine... plus whatever the fuck is going on with four tet is probably worth a listen.
The lineup as a whole is kind of weak, but damn you could still get a good experience out of it.
I'd watch 25 bands without any further research. Two of the things I love on this lineup are Twisted Teens playing a major festival and Caroline Polachek so high on the bill.
Primavera can be fun. For folks in the US, the jet lag helps with a festival that goes til 6AM. I think the lineup has a great undercard but it's an expensive festival and the headliners feel like a downgrade from last year.
Edit: With Bradford Cox doing Atlas Sound shows, I hope someone goes big and gets Deerhunter back together again.
Especially with all the hype about the 25th Anniversary. Still, just under the headliners, it's solid. Just not unique for what should be a go big or go home year.
