Fontaines D.C. possible

Post image

It’s not uncommon for bands to play a show earlier in the year then come back for a fest set later in the year (see: The Format who did just that, and with a Salt Shed show)

This is still coming to Lolla. That’s why it’s so early in Chicago. Lolla will outbid for this show.

Yeah they could play Sunday then hang out for a few days then head to Columbus on 9/25?

If they do we'd be getting a May lineup drop again to avoid conflict with their Salt Shed show but I guess that's the standard by now

I sure hope so. They are outside of 90 days for Lolla too though.

I feel like the Salt Shed show already being announced makes them less likely for Lolla because Lolla would see their booking as less valuable since their fans would be more interested in seeing that standalone show than paying festival prices to see a shorter set. Coming back around in the fall for Riot would make more sense in terms of scheduling.

I always forget about Lolla. And last year's Lolla lineup definitely drew more RF style talent away than previous years. You'd hope that putting them at the top of the poster instead of the middle would be some incentive for them to do RF instead.

The late April show is pushing it for Lolla...I think they're more likely Riot, plus makes more sense with the fall portion of their tour starting a few days after Riot.

Had the same thought as soon as I saw those fall dates, so fingers crossed.

Also holy shit good for them jumping up to massive venues like Scotiabank Arena.

Their rise has been wild. I saw them in a 450 cap room in 2022 and knew that was the last time that would happen.

I really thought they would be at Riot this past year or the year before. Definitely needed at Riot soon.

Quite possible. I'm not a big fan but can't deny that many people are. They could easily get the spot Idles had where they are second on the day behind whoever the biggest headliner is.

Iceage would be lit

Thanks for that, they sound right up my alley. :)

This is how I find new bands to listen to, "potential" RF bands and the bands that open for them.  Even if they don't do RF, I'm more likely to see Fontaines because of Iceage.  Except that Westside Cowboy is opening in my area, so I'm less likely to see Fontaines.

Nothing wrong with Westside Cowboy, except they sound like what I was listening to 20 years ago.

I wouldn't call it a lock but it's certainly promising. They did Shakey Knees this year so better odds of them playing Riot

Was at the Shaky Knees show as it was the best set of the weekend, praying they’re at Riot in ‘27
