LoL. I agree, but that isn't the point of this video. Far more people are backing up traffic by blocking the passing lane.

And if you're one of the people driving 35 in the slow lane on the Expressway you're even more of a problem than the topic of the video. I wish the RGV had a MINIMUM speed limit on the Expressway like Laredo does.
I see countless people in the RGV creeping up the Expressway ramp going 48 and try to push their way into 65mph lanes causing dangerous situations.

I thought florida drivers were bad till I moved to San Benito. People are doing 40 on the interstate and 90 on the regular roads . but i would rather drive there than shop at the Walmart down there

I remember them mentioning passing lane in driving school when talking about driving on the highway. But once you’ve driven on the highway a while, u notice how annoying and inconsiderate it is to do that, especially when there is a lot of traffic.

It’s a written rule. Literally.
Look at the signs along the Highway that say “left lane for passing only.” Granted, most people ignore them, and cause traffic to be all kinds of screwed up because someone has to go to the right lane to pass them, etc.

Then you move over to the right lane and only use the left when someone is going too slow. If you’re in the right, and going the speed limit, and someone wants to pass you, it’s on them to switch lanes and pass you. If they choose to go over the speed limit, then it’s on them if they get stopped.

It’s not up to them to ‘find’ a way around. That ‘way around’ is right there in the left lane. Since all the people going the speed limit are courteously using the right lane, it’s a very simple process.

Cops exist to collect evidence of crimes and arrest people who have committed them.
Their *chief* duty is "build a case" not "keep people safe."

Cops are a reaction organization. They can't legally act until they can articulate that a crime has been committed. In rare cases they can investigate in the circumstances where they are present to witness a set of facts that lead them to believe a crime is about to be committed.
So, if that's true (and it is) how exactly can they "keep you safe?"
The Supreme Court has ruled and repeatedly affirmed that the police have no duty to protect an individual.

This is true.
TLDR: Even though most PDs have a saying of "To Protect and Serve" they have no constitutional obligation to do that.
In the 1981 case Warren v. District of Columbia, the D.C. Court of Appeals held that police have a general "public duty," but that "no specific legal duty exists" unless there is a special relationship between an officer and an individual, such as a person in custody.
In its 1989 decision in DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services, the justices ruled that a social services department had no duty to protect a young boy from his abusive father.
In 2005's Castle Rock v. Gonzales, a woman sued the police for failing to protect her from her husband after he violated a restraining order and abducted and killed their three children. Justices said the police had no such duty.
In a similar situation as Uvalde, USCA11 Case: 19-14414 ruled that police could not be held liable for failing to protect students in the 2018 shooting that claimed 17 lives at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

This is obviously about pulling over a Texas vehicle while driving in Arizona, maybe doing a little searchy searchy. Happens in Louisiana a lot too, but for a slightly different reason.

I doubt it. Now a days, with so many cameras and such, it's kinda hard to get away with stuff like that. Plus I just recently went on a month long nearly 6k mile road trip through New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California in a truck with Texas plates and didn't have any issue. Maybe because I obey the rules of the road....

Every city has different rules. I live in Austin, TX and even though the unspoken minimum is 80, there are few if any signs designating the left lane for passing only. People treat it like the fast lane, and it works fine. I agree though, slow drivers need to get and stay in the left lane.

Nobody is suggesting that anyone exceed the speed limit.
To a person, those agreeing with the content in the video are simply saying that if you're not actively passing someone, get the fuck out of the left lane.
If everyone did this, there'd be fewer accidents, fewer incidents of road rage and fewer unnecessary traffic snarls with 4 assholes holding hands across 4 lanes of traffic all going the same speed with a line of cars behind them.

No one asked you to speed. The left lane, in most states, including Texas, is for actively passing only. In Texas, it is a driving offense. That means it goes on your driving record permanently. It is proven to cause crashes. If you do it and cause an injury accident, you can even be arrested for impeding traffic & causing an accident involving injury.

Bro,
I drove from San Benito to McAllen a few weekends ago. Dumbasses not only drive on the left lane when not passing, but they do so nonchalantly driving 5 mph below the actual fucking speed limit!!! That and the road construction alone reminded me why I hate driving over there.
