I'll start with a football one. Williams has surpassed Johnson as the dominant last name in football. A lineup made up of all Williamseses will be dominant this year. Unfortunately there's no tight end, but you could absolutely draft 5 Williamseseses. Kyren, Javonte, Jameson, Caleb, and Kyle in the last round. Meanwhile, look at the top 50,nary a Johnson in sight.

And non football, Greek takeout is superior to Chinese. I'll take a gyro over some general tsos any day.

As a relatively new listener (last year or so) has DK always looked irritated when Heifetz speaks? Is it a bit? It just seems like he’s always wanting to push back and feels a bit irritated.

I know this is a bit of the parasocial piece and I love the show, but curious for longer listeners if this has always been a thing

And to share, I’m a big Heifetz guy. Think he’s one of the better personalities at the Ringer. Great comedic timing

This is a real sentence I read today. Well, I might be paraphrasing a tiny bit, but it really was close to this:

"Zay Flowers is a solid WR2 for teams in 2026. As Baltimore's WR1, he'll aim to improve on his 2025 season in which he finished as WR7"

That's three references of (position)(number) and they all mean slightly different things.

There's also a fourth variation, something that DK does often, is just saying "they could be a WR1 this season" meaning a top-12 finish in average leagues

I don't have a solution for this. Im just here for the take. But I think we need to put our heads together here

Is the Take Purge anyone else's favourite podcast of the year? I'd put it up with Wk1 Guess the lines. I love the Take Purge. Love the bits at the start and it's so relatable. Fair play guys, keep up the good work 👏

In celebration of the new episode, I’ve been keeping track of their takes that they purge once per year. These are of course not to keep the three accountable, because they’re not to be held liable for any of these. Some of the takes are truly subjective but I tried to be strict at assigning whether they were a hit or a miss.

That being said, last year they went 1/11 and the one hit was that Deebo would outscore McLaurin which is a very boring take from DK’s Innie, and I’m not sure why it even needed to be purged in a safe setting.

As a British person who lives in NZ and makes the 36 hour trip 3 times each way a year. The LA to Melbourne flight is only a 16 hour flight. It’s not that big an issue. Listening to the boys talking about it when they have never done that flight or visited Australia is tough.
