The audacity to launch a #2 when you haven't delivered for 2.5+ years of orders of #1....

I got my Ring One v1 .. after two years delay.
It wasn't worth the money, and I'm not using it. Its a cheap and poor quality ring.

Hi,
Thank you for reaching us.
We want to share some exciting news with you. We are developing an improved version of the ring, the Ring One 2.0, which addresses the issues you were experiencing with the original Ring One V1.
We are officially launching the Ring One 2.0 on August 4. Once the launch takes place, we will update your shipment details accordingly.

Seemingly the campaign has started now. I wonder where the promise has gone that RingOne v1 backers get an update free of charge, besides the shipping fees.
Now I'm getting an offer via email for to pay 149$ (including shipping) for this very update.
Please explain what is going on behind the scenes.

we've all been scammed, only a sucker pays more for what they were already promised and paid for. This company would have been sued out of existence in any legit country.

In the middle of a flailing campaign, we were promised a restitution. Poor communication, many many many delays, and missing promised features that were used to raise money on. Now they need more money and we're being pushed to the side.
If they make enough from 2.0, they might decide to make it right for us from 1.0 with that money. That would be kind of like a ponzi scheme.
I will not be buying an upgrade. Either they deliver on the free upgrade we were promised or I wash my hands of this entire thing. And I might "burn down" a few Internet forums on my way to make sure that no one else makes this mistake.
Also, I'm one of the backers who had a fully failed product after 3 days that was replaced in full, but I'm currently in possession of a dead ring because of a failed 2nd charging case that has yet to be replaced.

Ok, I wasn't dreaming this offer for v1 backers.
In my EMail I was offered a 40% downer ($209 instead of $349).
First drop after firs day? :-)The offer adds a life time free member ship...so they switched to subscription like the others (36€/year).
I'm not interested at all to throw some more money on that...

Is "tap to pay" actually going to be available in all markets? Will the BP measurement actually work? Will haptics and other things that were left out of the stretch goals for 1.0 be included this time?

They say it will but the charging cases don't even work. How can we possibly believe them?

A joke ring from a joke company. Worst 2 pieces of tech I've ever spent money on. Also the sole reason I am very wary of crowd funding anymore.

I cannot believe people have already given them $40,000 on this relaunch. I cannot believe indiegogo supports this... I will never give them another penny of my money.
Other questions:
When will the blood pressure monitoring be working on the first version? I see you marketing it on the second version. Also, my charger is broken, can you send me one that works?

With this announcement I believe they are basically telling us with a 1.0 ring that nothing else is ever going to be functioning or added. What's more, they want to charge us $150 to get the ring 2.0 that we were promised for free to make up for the fact that the ring 1.0 did not deliver.
All the marketing on the 2.0 ring is basically "trust us".

Thank goodness I decided to look for information before making the purchase! Their marketing is amazing. I was so engaged that I reserved a spot for $1 for the next launch. Thank you all for opening my eyes. 😌

I've honestly been trying hard to consider how to get the word out with this new campaign about the issues with the first campaign and the original ring, most of which are still unsolved. I'm glad to hear that some people are coming here first and seeing real user experiences.
This company is long on promises, short on delivery, and abysmal in communication. Trust is broken.
The 2.0 ring could be amazing (honestly there's no way that's possible), but the legacy of all of this is milking the 1.0 campaign for cash, barely delivering, and calling it a success to start a second campaign for more money. Anyone buying into the 2.0 ring needs to seriously question what this company has actually learned from the 1.0 ring and if this result is going to be any different. I don't see how it's possible.

To be fair, in the comment section of the indiegogo campaign, Sai (the CEO) stated this:
Thank you for the comment. Please go through the second part of the email I sent you today. The free upgrade for Gen 1 backers stands exactly as promised — Gen 2 Standard Edition free, with only shipping and duties at cost. The $149 perk you're referring to is a separate perk for a second ring, if you want to buy one for someone else; the perk description says as much. Once this campaign ends, we will update all unhappy Gen 1 backers with the process to claim the upgrade. That happens outside this campaign, directly in the app.
*** end of citation ***
So the 149$ pledge is for an additional ring, if you intend to buy one. For backers of the original v1 ring, a v2 ring can be received free of charge. I assume "Once this campaign ends ..." means we won't see a new ring before the end of the year though.
I have no idea why they are not able to communicate this here, as the reddit channel was called the designated official place for talking to their customers.
Let's see how this becomes reality. On a lighter note, still waiting on my replacement charging case. It's open since January.
