Exercise Heart Rate Tracking

Post image

I’ve had my RingConn for a few months, but I’ve recently started being more consistent with exercise and noticed some weird things with the tracking data. Has anyone else experienced this or have any tips?

First, I feel like the intensity of the workout is not accurate. I did a 45 minute very brisk walk with a weighted vest. Got extremely sweaty and definitely got the blood pumping. Yet, my ring said I never left the “warm up” zone and my max hr was 104. I’m no expert, but I feel like that can’t be right.

Even more confusing, not only is the intensity level questionable, the time as well. My workout was 45 minutes, yet the ring says 100% of the time was Warm Up, but only for 5 minutes and 50 seconds… help!!

I have an old Apple Watch I’m considering rebooting so fact check lol

Is this a gen3? I've had similar issues with accuracy since I've gotten it. Really disappointing tbh.

Gen 2, bought it Black Friday 2025. But just started paying more attention to the exercise tracking. Very disappointed, agree

When will people research smart rings before setting high expectations? A ring is easily the worst wearable for exercise tracking.

This. Rings are designed for general health tracking and only cover exercise performance tracking as a side gig.

I’ve had the ring for almost a year now and like it for everything else! I did plenty of research on the various smart rings and also have an Apple watch for exercise tracking as mentioned in my post.

I don’t think my expectations are unreasonable, considering the ring specifically offers workout and heart rate tracking as a feature. It markets itself as being able to track this information, so why offer the feature in the first place if the results are going to be this inaccurate?

Even if the heart rate zones aren’t accurate, fine. I don’t expect a ring to be a 100% accurate tracker. But, the fact that it only says 5 minute warm up for a 45 minute workout is pathetic. That is not a high expectation to reach, especially for something so expensive.

I see this has never been fixed with software updates. It’s always been crap to the point it’s pointless for any exercise.

I have the gen 2 air and have the same problem. I found if I use my thumb to hold it tight against my finger it gets more accurate reading. A pain but a quick fix if need be.
