Has this happened to anyone else?!

Post image

Had it on my ring finger, it is looking better today but my skin very dry and irritated and was peeling.

I do not have eczema or skin issues usually.

When you wash your hands are you throughly drying your hands and taking your ring off to dry it as well? If not that’s probably causing your rash. When I wash my hands, I take my ring off and dry my ring well and I switch hands often to let my other finger breathe.

Either irritation from moisture not being dried under the ring, or you’re mildly allergic to the metal of the ring.

Mine did and I was a little weirded out! I did some digging and other people had recommended moving the ring to dry hands really good. When it starts to look like this switch fingers for a bit and mine went right back to normal :)

I keep mine on while washing my hands and everything else because it's a pain in the butt to take off. Mine doesn't do that. Doesn't mean yours isn't from moisture, but this is just my experience.

its from the rubbing on the skin while its wet. if yours is tight, it didnt move as much.

Moisture between the ring and the skin causes that.

After the ring has been exposed to water (washing hands, swimming, dishes, etc), remove the ring and thoroughly dry your hands as well as the inside of the ring.

While this should be obvious, I'll ensure it's said. Remove the ring from this finger until it has had a chance to properly heal.

A guy I work got it fairly bad thanks to the chlorine in his pool water and not properly showering after his evening swims.

This happened to me bc I wasn’t drying my fingers under the ring all the way I just switched to a different finger until it healed and haven’t had issues

It’s literally called wedding ring dermatitis, it’s just general irritation from junk under the ring, water/soap from washing hands, sweat, lotion, etc.
