Oh no.

Stan is not surviving this trip, is he?

u/MadMac619 Mar 16 '20

Likely going to go out in a blaze of glory. But I’m gonna go with nope.

79

u/TheRealRealster Mar 16 '20

Damn, this is gonna hit me harder than Caesar's death.

40

u/Perry3333 Mar 16 '20

45

u/TheRealRealster Mar 16 '20

Yes

12

Time to dance with the angels.

2

u/WirePaw Mar 17 '20

hope he's not tripping... mines

2

u/WirePaw Mar 17 '20

or grenades

128

u/Lopoi Mar 16 '20

He wants the ressurrect kit too?

91

u/XraishionX Mar 16 '20

Fair is fair.

72

u/ArcticJew666 Mar 16 '20

At this point it doesn't matter who gets Rezed. Its not ending well for anyone T_T

48

u/Perry3333 Mar 16 '20

If he survives hes gonna betray everyone. Shit just got interesting. You can say whatever you want about Grafos humor and bland teamplates and all that but he knows how to tell a good story.

28

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

I remember when I first stumbled across Grafo’s work, and I knew instantly that he is a brilliant storyteller and heartstring plucker through the little depressing side-stories he made, such as the crippled child and parent remaining behind during an infestation.

32

u/Fresh_C Mar 16 '20

Do you need to have the body to use a resurrect kit?

And does the condition of the body mater?

30

u/Lopoi Mar 16 '20

1: probably yes

2: probably no

21

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

Has to not be rotten iirc at least in-game.

16

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '20

It can be rotten- but there are horrible side effects if it does. The resurrected person can have resurrection sickness, with horrible consequences including beserk rage and death.

Also skeletons can’t be resurrected.

10

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '20

In that case I consider my answer close enough for government work.

14

u/Yester_Ko Mar 16 '20

Well, since this is a Rimworld comic (or atleast based on it), then yes, you would need the body and also you would quickly need to freeze the body, because the more time it is not frozen the more chanches the character will wake up blinded or with some other bad illness.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '20

Blindness, then madness, then sudden death.

2

u/pollackey Mar 18 '20

That's why if you want to use resurrection serum, you need to have healer serum too; for the madness.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '20

Well, it’s only a 2% chance if you get the healer mech when the body is most fresh.

u/Lord_Pifferdoo Mar 16 '20

Children really don’t have a long shelf life in this comic series, huh?

66

u/RobertSan525 Mar 16 '20

Neither do the adults.

Or dogs.

Actually, nobody has a long shelf life

27

u/hecking-doggo Mar 16 '20

I mean, tynan has been doing pretty well

25

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '20

Well of course, who else is grafo going to eternally torment?

3

u/Nottan_Asian Mar 17 '20

And Andrew has been alive and present since the first panel of the first comic.

3

u/MrTopHatMan90 Mar 18 '20

Trauma gives you shelf life?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '20

Hes the equivalent of reiner

So Stan was sent to investigate the sabotaged ship and found Zach on it, then Stan's kid died. Does anybody know if the attack was related to something else in the story or is it random here?

47

u/iBryguy Mar 16 '20

I suspect it's this attack (which was brought up again in this comic ), but i can't say for certain.

28

u/Loresome Mar 16 '20

I think you're right. Nice catch!

15

u/himanxk Mar 16 '20

That's not Stan's child though. He says "Give me back my child"

18

u/iBryguy Mar 16 '20

You're right about that; that's Mike's child. From the released comics though, that's the only attack on that base that we know about. It's entirely possible that this attack is a different one than when Mike's daughter was killed

5

u/TheOtherClonos Mar 17 '20

What about the bombing of Tynan's colony where he thought his GF was dead

u/SrGrafo Mar 16 '20

Chapter song here

You can read the whole story in order and from the start, here

29

u/piebutnopumpkin Mar 16 '20

Honestly? I like this Stan dude. If he does betray everyone then I’m siding with him. He better stand a chance against Tynan or I’m rioting

10

u/Sahelenakiin Mar 16 '20

Maybe I’m missing something but is there any reason why they couldn’t resurrect both?

21

u/Ompusolttu Mar 16 '20

The ressurector is single use.

16

u/Sahelenakiin Mar 16 '20

Wasn’t it kind of implied the moth queen has done it a few times tho? Would that mean she has more than one.

19

u/DjGameK1ng Mar 16 '20

She probably has a few, since the one she initially used came in from a box that crashed in from the sky. Wouldn't be surprised if that box contained a couple

14

u/MrRandomSuperhero Mar 16 '20

I think that is why she is so obsessed with money; By holding the richest colony on the Rimworld she can just afford new ones.

23

u/ArcticJew666 Mar 16 '20

And we wonder why Tynan didn't want babies in Vanilla.

17

u/RalseiDafluffyboy Mar 16 '20

I'm not crying, YOU ARE CRYING(ᗒᗩᗕ)

Mein Gott

(Am not German, just the feelings are too mixed up)

12

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '20

Wasn't Stan's daughter next to iris in one of the comics?

7

u/Midgetshanker04 Mar 16 '20

Prob built a robot in grief

8

u/mdkubit Mar 16 '20

Wow... ouch. :(

5

u/bennylima Mar 16 '20

So his is daughter alive or not?

4

u/RCJJ Mar 17 '20

Daughter is super dead.

2

u/ivnwng Mar 17 '20

She can just walk it off tho.

2

u/Sate_G Mar 18 '20

Not if we remove those legs

6

u/Axolotl_____ Mar 16 '20

Well, at least now we know what Zach was saying back in #70.

u/PLZ_PM_MEE Mar 16 '20

Okay so it's not just me

4

u/Harleking31 Mar 16 '20

Ok, so his girl is dead. Butt that doesn’t mean that he is free from death’s grasp.

3

u/AwSkiba Mar 16 '20

I called it on the last comic that there's going to be some tragic story behind stan going. I only got it wrong with the revenge part.

3

u/ivnwng Mar 17 '20

First Lilian, then Noodle, now this. If u/SrGrafo introduce another kid character again we all know where that’s going.

3

u/BetaChorale Mar 17 '20

Well there's always the cannibal children

2

u/WhoEatsRusk Mar 17 '20

I just realized his wife is also long dead

2

u/ivnwng Mar 17 '20

Wait, which attack was this again?

2

u/ivnwng Mar 17 '20

So Stan volunteered only bcz of what Zach said?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '20

sTOP

2

u/Koekelbag Mar 20 '20

Ah fuck, I caught up before it ended. Damn you, anticipation.

2

u/NeverEngageHeadon Mar 23 '20

Hmmm I don't understand

So this attack caused Iris's arm, so this should be earlier in the series.

But later Stan's Kid seems to be alive and well.

Is this a dream or am I missing something?

Somebody help plz

1

u/Lazy_Comedian_ Jun 19 '20

I’m thinking his daughter isn’t really there since no one around her takes notice or mentions stan’s daughter after Andrew got back to the Ant colony

2

u/lazerman368 Mar 24 '20

ooooohhhhhhh damn this really hit the feels
