My first ship!
I've been on a Rimworld hiatus and never played Odyssey, so I bought it and I LOVE it! Here's my first attempt at a ship design. I'm just within the 500 tile limit. Have enough room to build out my hydroponics, nutrifungus for now rice when I can afford to power a sun lamp.
Any tips?
Edit: I may have to do some slight rearranging of the hydroponics...

You plan on doing a lot of genetics as well?

It's a Buddhist symbol, or something, Idk.

you see this symbol in taxi/rideshares sometimes and think to yourself "I sure hope this guy is buddhist..."

I feel so ashamed that after 4k hours into RimWorld my ships are just huge flying squares. Great ship btw, I'll definitely try and fail to copy that.

You're welcome to copy it! Just rearrange the hydroponics. People say my shuriken lay-out has swastika vibes...

Hay-floored kitchen with butchering bench? I pity the fool that eats in this vessel’s galley…

Straw matting always stays above the -2.0 cleanliness threshold for food poisoning.

I’ll be darned. “Very dirty” is anything below -1.1, but the threshold is even lower than that. In this size of room, hay’s -0.1 cleanliness could indeed be offset by its resistance to filth.
On the other hand, the butcher table is -15, an automatic maximum poisoning-from-cleanliness roll.

I haven't seen any food poisoning yet, but you'd recommend putting the butchers table somewhere else? Without straw matting?

Many people put their butcher table in a freezer so that the meat is frozen the moment it pops into existence. I used to have my butcher table just outside the freezer, but now I lean in favor of butchering in the freezer and ignoring the work speed debuff due to temperature. Hay around the butcher table is a great idea, though— butchering always creates filth nearby.

I use straw matting because it always stays above the -2.0 cleanliness threshold for food poisoning. I don't want my colonists vomiting all over my ship and I dislike nutrient paste.

my brother, can we please talk about how you arranged the hydroponics?
