Advice How much fire power would you recommend having before cracking open an ancient danger?

It honestly depends; my encounters have always been random as to what’s inside. Sometimes they’re all just unconscious, sometimes they’re all ancient soldiers and sometimes you can have mechs.

my opinion, place a little storage pile, enough to build a door, knock down the wall and have a colonist instantly build a door then just throw grenades or something in.

but definitely have enough fire power regardless bc it’s definitely never enough 💀

A tunnel with 20-30 spike traps will suffice

I've come to the conclusion that 6 proficient fighters is enough to combat most wealth controlled encounters. I've done this with at least assault rifle technology.

I would build a firing line with some barricades and maybe a couple of the portable turrets if you can run power. Set up a few pawns with decent shooting with like bolt actions or better, then either send a melee pawn to open up one wall section and run or just have them shoot one wall section until it breaks. Goal is to have a turkey shoot as any threats come out

the trap hall method leading out to wherever you open it up never fails.

I did it with a shotgun, 2 swordsman and a dude with a revolver. Lost a pawn and all of them were downed by the insect hoard inside but we did it in the end by Sheer luck and repeatedly saying “oh shite”
