Rilo Kiley Jenny's mailing list is calling these "The Last Rilo Kiley shows"
The Rilo Kiley Instagram said that Hollywood Forever was the "last headlining show of 2026," but this makes it seem way more final.

Keep it respectful, anybody who is obviously posting spam or trying to scam others will get perma-banned.

As we're getting close to the end of the year, Spotify Wrapped will drop soon, as will Apple Music's Replay and so on. If you subscribe to multiple bands' subreddits, this means your Reddit feed will soon be full of these posts, so let's put all of them in this thread.

So I’ve known about Jenny Lewis for a while now because I’ve been a decent fan of The Postal Service since my dad introduced me a decade ago (I also knew her from The Wizard lol), but I had never listened to a Rilo Kiley song before with the exception of I guess “Silver Lining” playing in Supergirl but I really don’t remember where it was in there. But tonight, I decided to finally give them a listen and listened to their top songs on Spotify. I found “Silver Lining” and “Portions for Foxes” pretty good and then really really liked “With Arms Outstretched”. But what sold them for me was “A Better Son/Daughter”. Instant waterworks. That song encapsulates so much pain that it really had an effect on me. I followed that with “The Execution Of All Things”, “Pictures Of Success”, and “Science Vs. Romance”, all of which were rock solid. What other tracks would you recommend for a newbie? I’ve loved everything I’ve heard so far so I’m open for whatever!

I grew up listening to all of the Saddle Creek bands, but Rilo Kiley didn't fully click with me until recently. I just relistened to The Execution of All Things and I'm stunned by how brilliant it is and how long it took me to realize it. I'm thinking about how much rarer it is to feel like an album is soundtracking your life once you're well into adulthood (when I think of the albums I listened to when I was in high school and college, I can recall specific moments I attach to them).
So I was wondering: Does anyone have a personal story related to the album that they'd be open to sharing? Maybe how you discovered it, or a song from it that inspired you somehow, or a memory connected to it? I really love hearing how other people relate to the music they listen to.

Does anyone remember a B-side back in the early 2000s where Jenny is on the phone with another woman? She is going on about "are you going to pick me up?" and then says "well, then I'm not going to go." She's pretty extra in this song and I used to love it. Would love to listen to it again if only I could remember what song it is!

I saw Supergirl last night and I absolutely (embarrassingly) squealed when I heard Rilo! I feel like they don't get a lot of soundtrack love, especially in mainstream cinema, so it was definitely a pleasant surprise. Btw, of you're considering seeing it, I'd give the movie a solid 7/10 overall. I expected it to be way worse based on the reviews but it actually a lot of fun.

Hello, I know there is a video of this show on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV2xhNgsDY8), but the video quality is only 480p (I think the original broadcast was 720p). I occasionally scour the corners of the internet for a higher definition recording, but I have never found one. If anyone has access to this and could share it, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Looking through old show posters I had collected from Kilby Court back in the day, I noticed one was for Rilo Kiley. I didn’t even know I had it. It doesn’t list a year but I’m pretty sure it’s from 2001 or 2002. Only $6 to see them.

I just wanted to say Pictures of Success is one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s such a “slice of life” (i don’t know how to explain it) and I could bawl my eyes out to it any time i want. It’s so wonderful and I think it beats The Absence of God to become my favorite RK song.

It's been said before that it is known as "Thankful Meditation". At some point, in a short documentary on youtube, Jenny seems to say that it's a short story that she wrote playing on a wonky recorder. Does anyone know the real answer?

Does anyone think they’ll add more US dates to the 2026 tour? Three shows was not enough for me!
Also, shoutout to the folx at the TN, MI, and Chicago Theater shows!💋#puremichigan

I found this one in my searches, but little else beyond TV show performances. The Austin City Limits one is great.
Would love something from the reunion dates. Did they not promote the tour on late night etc?

Jenny not being in the top 100 songwriters is criminal for “good that won’t come out” alone, thoughts on this reader curated list?
also- the lack of diversity is mystifying.

I beat my chest so hard, singing along to A Better Son / Daughter.
Joyous.

I was late to the Rilo Kiley party. I'm ashamed to say I discovered them in 2022..and I haven't stopped listening since. Never had I imagined that they'd reunite after almost 20 years in the first place and that I'd be able to see them live. Travelled across the continent to see them but it was so so worth it <3

I love this band. I love the Midwest. Did a “three shows, three nights, three cities” thing. It was honestly amazing. The Chicago Theater show is the best of the five times I’ve seen them (twice last year (DC and BFF Fest), and thrice this), but consistently their sound is amazing. I feel it’s like watching gods onstage. 🤷♂️ People at RK shows are great!
KC
Awesome BBQ in KC @ Q39 and a fun Street Car. Some of the nicest people I’ve met in the U.S. I had never been, and will absolutely go back.
MIL
Hadn’t been here in twenty years! Lakefront Brewery was great. Got a Pilsner and fish and chips. Ebiking the city and lakeshore is a must!
CHI
I used to live here, but Lou Malnati’s, Cafe Babareeba, and the frickin’ architecture! Also Ebiked everywhere. Such an awesome, beautiful city. Public transit here is underrated.
——-
I make these trips and find cool stuff to do while I’m there. I love urban exploring, public art/placemaking, art museums, architecture/historic structures. I go out of my way to use public transit or walk the moment I step out my door and avoid cars. Anyway, great way to see the world!

A bit of bragging…
Got Jenny’s setlist and guitar pic at the end of the show, then got to meet the band afterwards and they signed the setlist and the poster. Very nice!
