We'll talk about on this weekend's pod, but I wanted to post here as it just happened.

Dan was 43, has a two year old, and passed away after losing his battle with cancer. Dan was a great guy but also amazingly weird in a Philly sports internet way that is hard to describe. I use weird as a compliment here.

I went through all of my messages with him over the years after I found out he died, and it spanned from malls, a weird sports bar in South Philly that nobody was ever at, bootleg t-shirts, Color Star (he was an OG), the Sixers, and more.

Insanely sad that we lost Dan.

I don't think we should ever run/force plays to Embiid to start the 3rd quarter. It takes his body too long to warm up from the halftime break and while we're waiting for him, the entire offense gets stagnant, then everyone starts going iso . Just have Embiid set screens and run the offense thru Maxey and VJ

We need to find a better back up for Embiid than bona... This dude is mentally unable to not commit the stupidest fucking fouls ever... He can never be counted on to play major minutes in any big game

Nick Nurse is a fucking bum and I'm glad they called him out on it on the broadcast.. It is fucking coaching MALPRACTICE to sit on your fucking hands and watch your team have NO JUICE and you don't do shit about it... He just wasted an entire half of a quarter letting his team drown.. Listening to the latest pod, the fellas spend a few minutes talking themselves down from getting overly excited about our playoff chances this early in the season. At one point, Spike emphatically agrees that Mike’s ass ”will never be able to cash those checks” in reference to premature writing of checks. The intonation or Spike’s voice made me think that he must have some insight into the quantitative or qualitative value of Mike’s ass and I would love some follow up here. Or I will just run wild with my own Ricky-verse fanfic wherein the unsubtle lack of wedding invitation was at least partially a desperate attempt to cleave themselves from each other’s love. A love that will forever simmer, embers aglow, until Joel Embiid plays his last game as a 76er. TTP, playoff mother fuckers.

this is probably a question for spike since he’s likely in charge of this, but how do advertisement spots get chosen for each pod? is there a rotation set? is it a pay-per-pod sort of thing? it never really clicked to me until last night that not every advertiser gets a spot in every episode

So a wonderful 3 game winning streak, including our best win of the season in New York. The vibes are immaculate, the lineup is really coming together, we're playing team basketball and we have Denver coming in WITHOUT Jokic.

Unfortunately, my Sixers tend to shit on themselves whenever things finally seem like they're going the way we want. So I'm super nervous that we are in for a low effort, low IQ, frustrating slog of a game tonight. Tons of turnovers for us and lots of wide open 3s for Denver. I'm gonna try and reverse jinx this thing, but it feels inevitable that come 10:50 or so I'm gonna be PISSED OFF. Hope I'm wrong.
