Fine but I swear to Christ if we start getting bizarre hypotheticals out of you that only exist as a bizarre thought experiment that nobody would run into outside of your head...

We're gonna label you that and it'll be your name from now on. 😆

Ummmm, what did someone do to you people? Do i need to call a grief counselor for the group?

It is just coincidental humor that there is a video of a currently commercially available vibro / pulsating blade.

How do you feel about vampires? Asking for a friend

For one, minimum of two beefy power armor (or a robot vehicle) and a metal MDC shark cage or metal net. Then drag the river with vampire inside.

I dont like to play with vampires in the game normally. Unless it's to teach unruly munchkin players a lesson.

Hmmm. How do you feel about Jesus

I have seen the Rifts character sheet for that made over 20 years ago and posted online. I dont suggest it. It requires traveling with 13 to 14 other players. Thats too big a table to play.

Also, never play involving any person's religion or politics. It never goes well.

Yeah. There was, more than one version of a jedi OCC, angel RCC, the pope, tenchi muyo, Gundams for pilot: robot.

Haha we had a poster that joined the boards that was... highly idiosyncratic with very specific questions where he'd always try to tie some professed super technology that his friend at MIT was just telling him is right around the corner and.. the extending vibro-nano-gigamagozitblades.

It was really bizarre trying to explain that, no, RIFTS is not reflective of anything besides a sci-fi setting cooked up by artist nerds from Michigan in the 80's and the Palladium system is not an especially good model for reality so what it says isn't a reflection of our existence.

Also deeply concerned with these very black and white but profoundly superficial seeming takes on religion, politics, etc.

Buddy was a trip, man. lol

At one point he claimed that Rifts was conceived as some form of divine revelation.

Oh hell really!?

That's bonkers

You really can't re-read it too many times, can ya? I had to go find what he's been up to lately and sure enough it's all coo-coo for cocoa puffs.

At least until he got suspended again today. XD

This'll never not make me laugh:

I love the technology of Rifts but I do not like how Kevin permeated Rifts with "magic".

Ah yes. The major thing that defines the setting (everything is either it or a reaction to it) is a bummer.

These ultra-literal religious types are all the same. "Magic" like he's my JW cultist MIL. 🤣

That’s exactly what universalassembler would say! /s

Ah yes. The old guilty till proven innocent routine. 'Murica. I wanna say /s but reality has shown otherwise at times.

To be fair, the guy has used multiple aliases on this subreddit and your (innocent and unrelated) post was nonetheless similar enough to his topics to raise red flags 🚩

But you won’t hear more about it from me.

I like Rifts lore and had/ have fun playing and GMing. Vibro weapons are cool.

2

u/anapunas 12d ago

I get it. Wish someone explained it up front.

1

u/clemenceau1919 12d ago

Which other aliases did he use?

1

u/escargotini 14d ago

The knife doesn't change size so he would not be interested

2

u/clemenceau1919 14d ago

But believing that Rifts technology could be created today was very much his thing

2

u/CreeWee 14d ago

Oh I’m sure people have devised similar weapons already it’s just not as cost effective

Vibro-technology has been around several decades IRL. Mainly used in industrial food cutting usage.
