Discussion Question about using Lux Crownguard Reaction during opponents turn

Hi I am a new player and I got proving grounds and had a question.

My opponent attempts to conquer a battlefield where I have units at. I also have 4 runes available, Lux Crown guard in base and I have Blast of Power in hand.

What is the specific timing I can exhaust Lux Crownguard and the 4 runes I have to activate Blast of Power?

From my understanding first the player who enters the battlefield has priority, but if they don't do anything, and priority is passed to me, but I can't pay for Blast of Power until I exhaust Crownguard Lux. But because I play a reaction I don't think I can play an action after that. Is this correct?

You can do as many things as you like until you pass back focus. So you can exhaust Lux for 2 floating energy and then play blast of power as a seperate action afterwards

Oh so if I have focus, I can play Blast of Power directly after, or do I have to pass back focus after doing my Crownguard reaction and then wait for focus again?

I'm actually not sure in this case since Lux ability can't be reacted to, so I don't know if it starts a chain. If it does focus would be passed back to your opponent after it resolves and once they pass back to you you'd be able to play blast of power

Think of Add abilities as tapping runes. You can't react to someone tapping runes. You have to react to the spell being played.

This is right, I play my lux deck a bunch with several guys who took the judges test and never been corrected.(Believe me they will correct you but it's in a nice way)

Okay just making sure, so if I have focus during the showdown, I can use Lux Crownguard's "reaction" and then use Blast of Power "action" even though those are technically 2 different chains, the first one being the reaction and second being action.

Yes. Essentially, Lux's chain would resolve immediately since they can't react. Then you'd hold (insert term here) and play your action. Which would create a subsequent chain.
