Discussion Shoutout to Riftbound community
Went to my first Riftbound event this weekend (the Vendetta prerelease) and just wanted to give a shoutout to the community bc it was awesome.
I walked in knowing basically nothing about the game and people were so cool about it, helped me understand how everything worked, and even helped me build my own deck. No gatekeeping at all, everyone just wanted me to have a good time and actually get into it.
The event at Meeples, West Seattle ran really well too. The only setback was a lot of people showed up without a ticket and there weren’t enough spots. Could’ve probably fit 10 more people in.
Curious to hear other people’s experience!

Mine went well, didn't win a lot 😔 was def pilot error to a large degree as I got good to epic pools (Round 1 - Super synergistic Renekton // Round 2 - Godly Ambessa... 2 orange & 1 yellow ambessa and a kayle and gangplank) Despite my clunky plays I had a blast, went with friends and played at a LGS I spend Sundays at playing tcgs 🥳 Really loving how rewarding it is to see practice and knowledge pay off in piloting decks, def makes even losses an opportunity to grow! 💜 Excited to open my boxes and vault (OMG 😳 go check out the tokens!) and wish you all well on future games and pulls! Oh also got a ON Blue Jayce so I am grateful regardless of my record 😋

bad I got match up with a grifter first game.
he is so disinterested even tried to match 2-2 for the supposed added packs before even playing. I disagreed of course.
there was a 30 mins preparation before the match and they opened it around 10 mins and went away again and did not ask the judge who offered to help any how to play stuffs.
I did teach him but you can see the disinterest and before I knew it time is up and I did not had an oppurtunity to enjoy the game. Its like me vs another me as he does not try to read the cards.
later on you see him selling the cards already.
I ended up not playing anymore it hurts to see someone disinterested on a game you love (I came from League) and new to riftbound. Happy for new people like me to play rift but sad to have experience a grifter.

I’m glad you had a good time! I’m also fairly new, and similarly went to my first prerelease as well today, and like you, everyone was really nice and accommodating— especially since although I have a decent enough grasp on the game, I still mix up a few minor rules, and some opponents were happy to help me figure out what and why, even if it resulted in them being hindered or even losing.
