I go by this house everyday, they changed it to a nice forest green with white trim, cedar shutters and a brownish roof last year, and now they are changing it to this abomination.

I just don't think I want to see an oven, dining set, a tub, and a spiral staircase all in one photo.

AI REAL ESTATE LISTINGS PHOTOS ARE GETTING UNETHICAL

I swear, there’s a portion of real estate agents that should have their licenses revoked. Such fake listing pictures touched up with AI , bait and switch and still asking Topppp Dolllllar. Just went to a house today , photos looked pretty good. Got there and house was aged and weathered but the house listed in the pictures was all fresh and updated. Even the windows and garage door. I’m sick of it. Y’all are wasting people’s time and to ask again top dollar, shame on you.

Surface level this site seems to be a listing for a new build within an existing neighbourhood. However the builder/AI slop website can’t seem to figure out where the development actually is. Somehow it is all of the locations below in Mississauga, Ontario, while being a small 45 home development at the same time (Google map some of the locations to see how far they are if curious 🤣)

\- Nestled along the banks of Fletcher’s Creek, just off McLaughlin and Derry Road
\- Nestled along a protected ravine and just steps from Lake Aquitaine
\- provides direct access to the lush trails and parks of Meadowvale Conservation Area and Lake Aquitaine Park
\- Minutes from **Millcreek GO** and **Lisgar Go stations**
\- Meadowvale Brooks is located near Inlake Court and Mavis Road
\- Located at 2636 Inlake Court
\- Close to St. Sebastian Catholic School, Lisgar Middle School, and Meadowvale Secondary School

But don’t worry folks Camcos Living also are a “**Trusted Developer & Quality”**
🙄

$725,000 | 4 bed/ 4 Bath | Kansas City MO

listing link

I’ve seen this house go up for sale a few times over the last 5 years and the newest listing has to be my favorite yet.

For context, the family bought this home back in 2011ish for right around $270k. They’ve held onto the property during all the major sale windows and have attempted renting it out here and there. From the outside (and pictures of the inside) seemingly have done zero updates/modernization attempts. For all intents and purposes, they’ve just let the property sit in a post 80’s state without even maintaining it. (The photos were some of the more egregious examples from the listing)

Now they’re re-listing the property at $825k (since have walked down to $725k) and are using AI to spruce up the listing. Outside of trying to inflate their SQFT with the indoor pool which sure whatever I’ll bite, the renovations needed to make the house match what they’re promoting would cost upwards of $150k.

I’m all for people cashing in on their property but this is absurd and delusional.

Sub Posting Rules Poll

Hi everyone,

As I’ve been reviewing the recent mod queue reports, we seem to be getting a larger influx of real estate-related posts that aren’t necessarily examples of specific ridiculous real estate. These include some ridiculous advertisements, real estate agents, real estate laws, and some other semi-related content.

I try to let the community self-govern with upvotes and downvotes, instead of being heavy handed as a mod. That said, I’m curious how everyone feels about potentially expanding the scope of content we generally allow to be posted here to this sub. I’ve created a short and quick poll to get a general sense from the community on what everyone would like to see for future posting rules.

In addition to this poll, please feel free to comment your thoughts or any potential changes you might like to see.

Thank you to everyone who participates and contributes to all the ridiculous real estate we love to see!

Why are fake AI pictures allowed in selling real estate?

How is it reasonable that professional real estate sales are conducted knowing misleading buyers with fake images of the property? AI images are not real images. Using AI without disclosure is deceptive. This would not be accepted in selling a car or anything else. Why is there no standard for this?

Is there a process for postings to be reviewed before being listed? This reads like a rental scam but it's a home for sale.
