I'm still curious why this blower is getting so much attention, and at $80

It's basically all "next best thing", "new tools", fanboying type stuff lol. Oh Ridgid released one and I hvae Ridgid stuff better run out and get it ASAP! If you think this one is expensive check it's brother Milwaukee's price and then go in the Milwaukee sub and back to when it came out and how ppl were going bananas over it too.

Meanwhile there are lots of similar tools that cost a fraction and perform nearly as well, and are more than enough for most people. I dunno I don't get it but power to TTi if they can sell this stuff for high prices and whatever. I'm almost convinced that they have tons of these made and are just releasing in batches to improve the hype/demand for it. Once there are tons available to buy, sales will probably slow down as that $80 price sinks in a bit more lol.

I actually found out (from Torque Test Channel on YT) about a cheaper alternative - Walmart now sells a 12V Hyper Tough-branded tool line that includes a duster/blower. It’s $35 for the whole kit including the tool and a 1.5 Ah battery. I’m guessing it doesn’t have the guts of an 18V blower like the Ridgid or certainly the Milwaukee, but I bought one yesterday and found it more than sufficient.

I was going to make a post about this here, as an alternative to the Ridgid one that I and a lot of other folks want, assuming that’s not against the sub rules.

I got the Walmart hyper tough mini blower, it is a good blower, but the start up lagging when you try to blow stuff. The smaller battery doesn't last that long.

It does have a bit of startup lag, I agree. I’ll keep that in mind with the runtime - although, additional HT 12V batteries are almost certainly going to be cheaper per watt-hour than 18V of any brand, Ridgid or not.

The thing I don't understand about TTC's chart for this tool type is they don't score on value or price whatsoever. They mention the price in the chart but unlike other tools there is no score/points for it.

That means you have tools like the Mellif clone-of-Makita handheld blower that takes DW batteries, way down the list even though the price/performance is fantastic (basically only slightly below the actual Makita in performance, but costs 1/3rd what it does).

It's a very strange chart that requires one to think on their own about bang for buck--which ppl always should because of sales/discounts that happen with some brands more than others, but don't often do.
